Default Varicose Vein Help

Varicose veins are a result from venous insufficiency. The valves in ur legs r most likely disfunctioning and causing the blood to pool in ur legs instead of getting pumped back up towards ur heart. I dont know where u live but I would suggest going to a vein specailist and getting an duplex ultrasound performed. I am a doctor who specializes in veins and at my office if there is signs of reflux in ur veins (valves disfunctioning) we perform an endovenous laser ablation. This is covered by most insurance companys because it is considered medical and not cosmetic. The endovenous laser ablation is a simple procedure that allows you to return to normal activites the next day. The procedure takes about an hr. I insert a catheter into your vein that has a small laser fiber attached, once the laser is fired I slowly pull in down through the leg. As it moves down it heat seals ur vein closed. You will have to wear a compression stocking for a wk to help the healing process. and the only scarring is a tiny spot of the incision, that normally disappears over time...and no this vein is not needed if it is causing problems. You have other veins in ur legs that will circulate blood. Getting rid of this vein will actually help with circulation and get rid of the pooling blood. The vein that is closed off is reabsorbed into ur body.
