after years of damage to my hair, i finally figured out how to care for it properly. u need to go get as much to all the damaged hair cut off. u can't fix split ends only try to prevent them. try not to dye ur hair for a long time, a year or so. never go to bed with ur hair wet. comb it out b4 bed, start at the ends of ur hair & work ur way up. if u must sleep with ur hair pulled back, braid it. don't put it in a pony tail, that will break ur hair. use a leave in conditioner after u get out of the shower. don't buy cheap shampoos & conditioners , the don't help, they make it worse. avoid using chemicals, curling irons, & flat irons in ur hair as much as possible. once ur hair is healthy it isn't super expensive to maintain. it is easy once u form habits. hope that helps ya

Do you use any heating methods, such as hair straighteners or blow dryers? If you do, maybe cut them out for a while, just so that your hair can re-cooperate

I use a hair mask once a week. I swear by it. It's called 'It's a 10 Hair Mask' and the tub of it costs about $30, but it lasts for about a year or so since I only use it once a week.

Limit your time with curling irons, blow dryers, etc.

Firstly, I don't know your hair type, so I wouldn't know where to begin to help. n-n" Because different hair types need different ways of care. I'm mixed, so in turn, my hair is mixed grade as well. It's pretty fine in the front and back, but when I get to the middle, that's when the trouble starts! xD However, I've noticed that my hair has changed over the years, so now I find it easier to take care of, because I wasn't giving it the proper care to begin with.

I used to perm [relax to straighten] it. I realized I didn't need it anymore because I saw no difference in how my hair was after using it, to not using it at all.

If you wash your hair, try using a shampoo that is infused with vitamin E or something that is for really dry hair. I was dying my hair a bit [after I bleached it for a second time after about a year or so], and it really does take its toll. I use the dove shampoo from Costco, because it's a bigger bottle, and cheaper than just going to a store and buying it and having to pay much more for it. Then I use quite a bit of conditioner. Suave [cherry blossom scented, it's my favorite so far], and despite the fact that it may be 'cheap', it works incredibly good on my hair. Then I started using a spray leave in conditioner from Nexus and that works really good too. It's a moderately expensive for me, but I feel it's worth it. I no longer blow-dry my hair anymore, I let it air dry a bit with the leave in conditioner in it, and I spray a bit of olive oil spray in my hair as well. Then the next day I flat-iron [by this time, my hair is super silky as I'm flat-ironing], wrap it, more olive oil spray. and I don't flat-iron until a few days later. It also helps my hair get nourished from the olive oil, because it does seem to absorb it. I just keep wrapping my hair and sleeping on it, so that I won't have to flat-iron as much. It also helps cut down on the time it takes me to get ready. I shower [with a shower cap on], get dressed, take my hair down, and then I'm ready to go.

But, if your not ethnic, then I'm not sure how much this helped you out. Sorry. ^-^" I gave it my best shot. The next time you go to a stylist however [because I just went last week to get my ends cut because they were getting crazy, and take the weight out of my hair], you can always just ask them how to maintain your hair so that it doesn't get so damaged. It would also help if you used a hair color that doesn't have ammonia or something really harsh. If you do, condition it deeply! I've found that helps me a bit.

Im sure you're worried about that.. if you can get hold of fresh coconut milk then you're in for a great hair treatment.. massage it on your scalp...make sure that you use all the coconut milk in for one day... do it once a week...leave the coconut milk overnight...just put a shower cap so that your pillow wont smell coconut the next day... then rinse off... shampoo just a little but put on a lot of conditioner...pat dry your hair, just pat dry...let it dry naturally by combing always... in a month, you'll see a great result...

OK, first, if you really wanna colour your hair (which you shouldn't because natural is more beautiful!) then the only thing you should colour it by is HENNA-it's a totally naturally paste that creates a beautiful and rich colour .. no chemicals involved .
but for now, to heal your hair, you should start to think about being gentle with it . don't touch/brush or play w/ it too much, use a heat protector spray if you wana use heat w/ it, and just eat healthy/take some vitamins !
your hair will soon be transformed

    Beer: it gives shine
Honey/Egg: makes the hair softer and allow it to grow longer

If you have a problem for shine, then do the beer rinse:
    - 1/4 cup water
    - 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
    - 1/4 cup beer (a hoppier beer, like an IPA, is ideal)
    * Mix together and use as a final rinse after conditioning, rinsing completely with warm water. Repeat every seven to 10 days.

for stronger longer hair, you can use honey as massage and also egg shampoo...works really great...
