    Default Longer, LONGER hair?!?!

I used 'Hair, Skin and Nails' before for a couple of months after i dyed my hair for about a year. my hair was in really crummy shape so i began taking those pills and got a trim. they worked really nicely, and made my skin really soft, too... but there were some...personal drawbacks. now i'm looking for a new method to keep my hair growing out longer and longer and longer. thank you for any avice -ahead of time-

I wonder if the old myth of 100 strokes, a night, brushing really work?

I do know that a small trim every 6 weeks promotes growth...
Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
    you must believe!

    Default nutrients for hair growth

Keep in mind your body needs good nutrition to make good hair. Here are the recommendations, ripped from another website (that I can't link you to...just use Google to find it):

B vitamins are important for the health and growth of the hair. Foods rich in B vitamins include beans, peas, carrots, cauliflower, soy beans, nutritional yeast, bran, nuts and eggs. Take a vitamin B-complex and supplement it with the following additional B-vitamins for best results.

    Vitamin B3 (niacin) - 50 mg 3 times daily.

Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) -100 mg 3 times daily.

Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) -50 mg 3 times daily.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Biotin is very important for hair health. It is needed for healthy hair and skin, and may even prevent hair loss in some men. Eat plenty of foods high in biotin and/ or take it in supplemental form. Good food sources of biotin include brewer's yeast, brown rice, bulgur, green peas, lentils, oats, soybeans, sunflower seeds, and walnuts. You can also use hair care products containing biotin.

Dosage: 50 mg 3 times daily.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inositol is vital for hair growth.

    Dosage: 100 mg twice daily.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vitamin C aids in improving scalp circulation. It is important to maintain capillaries that carry blood to the follicles.

    Dosage: 3,000-10,000 mg daily.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vitamin E increases oxygen uptake, which improves circulation to the scalp. It improves health and growth of hair. Since hair health is tied to the immune health, vitamin E is believed to stimulate hair growth by enhancing the immune function.

Dosage: Start with 400 IU daily and slowly increase to 800-1,000 IU daily.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zinc stimulates hair growth by enhancing immune function.

Dosage: 50-100 mg daily. Do not exceed this amount.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coenzyme Q10 - Improves scalp circulation. Increases tissue oxygenation. It is also very important for heart health. Take 60 mg daily.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
L-Cysteine and L-methionine - Two amino acids belived to improve quality, texture, and growth of hair. They help prevent hair from falling out.

Dosage: 500 mg each twice daily, and on an empty stoma
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alcohol is said to interfere with hair growth!

Thank you so much for all your valuable information!! WOW you're like an encyclopedia. I may have some issues regarding my overall health, but honestly, my issue with biotin is that it makes my Girly Parts stinky as and my BF does NOT appreciate it. Any ideas in reference to this particular issue?

    beautiful hair tips!

    Use Good Quality Products
There's a good reason brands like Kinky-Curly and Miss Jessie's are so popular among people seeking great-looking curls: they work. Products from these lines, as well as Ouidad, are designed to work with curly hair of all textures. You'll get much better results with a high-quality gel than you will from a cheap drugstore brand, which usually leaves hair feeling crunchy and parched.
After Products are Applied, Leave Hair Alone
Once your hair products are in and you've combed through your hair or worked through it with your fingers, leave your style alone. Let it air dry or use a diffuser, but don't touch those curls. This means no combing and no brushing; otherwise, you'll just comb or brush your curls into a big ball of frizz.
Let Hair Air Dry Whenever Possible
You may not always have time to let your hair air dry, but do it whenever you can. The less heat you place on your hair in the form of blow drying, even if it's diffused, the more moisture your hair retains, which is crucial for maintaining healthy curls that don't frizz. If you're in a hurry, low heat via a diffuser dryer is fine, but again, don't scrunch. Just move the dryer around your hair quickly and stop when your hair is about 50% dry.
    Avoid Oils
For well-defined curls, products that are not oil-based will give you better results. When you don't want to wear your hair in ringlet form, using oil is fine and won't disrupt your style, but gel-like products give good hold while keeping frizz at bay.

You just reminded me of something I used to do when I was a little girl. I think I'm gonna get back to doing that. It turns out to be an old ancient nightly ritual. Thanks a bunch.

    Thumbs up Darn Hair Dye!!!

Hey sweets. If you find a good line of products that is right for your hair type, stick to that. Hair color, or certain brands, can be a buzz kill on the hair shaft. When you wash your hair, make sure you use a rinse out conditioner and then a leave in conditioner. A good habit to keep is to wear a silk bonnet at night or get a satin pillowcase because cotton will absorb and moisture in your hair and result in breakage and damage. Hope this helps.

    This is my only advice:
Be careful while choosing the conditioner. The best conditioner for dry hair is oil massage and among the most effective hair oils are olive oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil and mustard oil. Olive oil prevents dryness as well as cures hair loss. It protects hair from harsh sun rays and is also enhanced as a super hair conditioner by the sun's natural heat.
