Celebrity Influence
I was wondering how much influence celebrities have on your buying decisions when it comes to beauty products? Do you think it depends on:
a) Your age
b) The celebrity they use
or would you be more likely to be influenced by a recommendation by a friend or a website like this?

I've tried numerous products that were endorsed by celebrities, and some of them were good, some of them weren't. Whether or not a celebrity endorses something doesn't really sway me into buying the product or not - I usually do my own research, talk to gals I know have used the product, and see what people are saying about it online.
I wonder which celebrities have the most influence then and is it all linked to your lifestyle and/or socio economic groups?
Having asked the question I am also intrigued that perhaps they are now less influential as there seems to be an increase in brands going for normal people to promote them: I am thinking of how Dove started this and more recently Max Factor have done makeovers and Simple have launched their Simple Star competition. Would you be more influenced by this approach?
