    Default greasy hair?

ok. my hair goes down to about my elbows so about mid back length. I do dye my hair but not often. i dye it about twice a year maybe 3 times. my hair from a little more than mid-shaft down to the ends is always been very healthy. its not greasy or anything, its pretty great. the problem i have is at my roots. no matter what shampoo and conditioner i try it gets so greasy. i try putting little conditioner on my roots and more shampoo. ive tried that vise versa. nothing is working. when my hair dries it looks good for about the first few hours (two to three hours). then it starts getting really greasy and oily. i don't know what is up with it but its quit annoying. i've tried washing with hot water, cold water, many hair tricks with washing it, many different products. i have no clue what to do anymore. i have to take a shower every night or morning other wise my hair gets really bad. i cant go more than a day and a half without a shower or it looks completely terrible. any advice?

I think lots of people are in the same boat, hair looking a bit greasy after more than a day without washing it. I don't think that's necessarily a problem - you gotta do for your hair what needs to be done.

How often do you brush your hair?

have you tried the "dry" shampoos?

It won't fix the greasiness problem perse, but it will absorb the excess oil from your scalp so you don't have to wash your hair so much. It's like a hair-spray. You spray it on your roots, wait a couple minutes and brush it out.

I would suggest Keratin Complex's Volumizing Dry Shampoo Lift Powder. It's a small bottle with a brush at the top, so you just brush it into your roots and it absorbs extra grease while adding some lift. The great thing about it is its a little bottle so you can just keep it in your purse and dab some on mid-day if you're looking a bit greasy, and its clear so you can't see the powder in your hair.

I have this problem too, and I'm busy 24/7 so sometimes I just have to grit my teeth and greet the world looking a little greasy round the edges. The dry shampoo idea is a good one, I tried this after a few festivals when in my first year of university, it worked a treat as long as I didn't spray too much and emerge as a greying woman! The biggest flaw with this plan was the price though, having below the shoulders hair, my hair is reasonably long too and I'd find 1 can of dry shampoo would barely last me more than 3-5 uses depending on the brand. So if you give this one a go, choose wisely!!

Try doing an overnight hair massage using olive oil or coconut oil.
