Default 16 years old and size DD boobs...

Hi I'm Nellie and I am only 16 years old. I am 5'3 and weigh about 150 lbs and losing weight as time goes on. I don't have an eating disorder but I have lost 25 lbs in the past month and a half due to a switch in my ADD/BiPolar medications. The reason I am posting this thread is not because i feel self concious about my breast size but because my boobs hurt when I run or jump and most days I wear an underwire and a sports bra at the same time. Even with this I don't get the support I need. My boobs are very jiggly and I am wondering if there is a way to make them firmer. Of course I don't want surgery, I'm only 16. I don't want to make them bigger but i want the fat and tissue inside to shrink if that is possible because that is the jiggly part, I think. Thank you for your help in advance!

Breast size is rather constant until childbirth, breastfeeding, and gravity take over. Your best bet is a compression bra. I have seen them in Target and Walmart as sports bras, and I know Victoria's Secret's website used to carry them too. Get a good fitting and a full-coverage bra to limit the movement the most you can.

Go to Lane Bryant. Really. Their bras are amazing. I was your size in HS (a few inches taller, but same weight and chest size), and it wasn't until just a few years ago that I discovered their bras. I used to always hurt, and it turns out it was because I was wearing the wrong size/type of bra. Go there, they will size you properly, and you can try on a variety of bras to see what works best for you. Yes, they are a bit more expensive, but I try to buy when they're on sale, and they last me a long time. I usually buy them at a size where the tightest setting is snug (but not painful), and then replace them when I have to move to the largest setting on the back. I love good bras, and theirs are cute!

Lane Bryant are really cool. They have so many stuff to choose from and reasonably price because of the comfort their products gives.

Sounds like you are in need of a really good bra. In finer department stores, they actually have people that still do 'bra fittings' that might be able to help you find your correct size so that you get maximum support. Most women have no idea what their real bra size is and are not getting the support or fit they could because of that. Investing in a comfortable, supportive bra should really help you with hurting when you are active. Appropriate band width is crucial as is making sure the arm straps are adjusted for proper fit.

If you want to wear prettier bras, underwires, save those for when you are being less active -- and get the comfy wide band, wide strap, underwireless varieties for when you are participating in sports or just hanging around the house etc.
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.
