Default Nail biter and Weak nails

I am a nail biter, I admit it. It's usually because I'm bored or I'm watching a suspenseful movie, but mostly it's the former. Also I have weak nails, the few times that I have grown them out they are very weak. Can anyone suggest on how to stop from nail biting and are there any products to help with the growth of natural nails?

I'd like to know because I'm a server so I can't wear fake nails, they come off in a few days instead lasting 10 days like they're supposed to. Even if I had them professionally done, they only last maybe up to a week and that's it. So any ideas would be grateful!!! Thanks in advance!

I was a nail biter from about 2 years old until a couple of years ago... I'm 37 now.... the trick for me was becoming content in my life but also keeping nail polish on them. Even if it was clear polish. Sometimes it meant applying a coat daily but I didn't want to mess up the polish so didn't bite... try it and see if it works for you. Also, there is something you can buy, it's located by the nail polish in the store and it's called 'nail biter'. It tastes awful!!!

Thanks for the advice!! You know what, my mother put that stuff on my nails when I was a child and I STILL managed to bite my nails despite that awful taste. Even nail polish, I would bite my nails but I'll try what you did with the clear coat. I have to admit that I did enjoy seeing shiny nails. Thanks again, MLN2603!!

I know that some of that stuff probably works but I've just given myself some incentive! I went out and bought some Sally Hansen nail polish called: Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear and I'm happy with it. I got a white one, a pale pink one, and a clear coat. I read on the internet how to do your own french manicure so that's what I'm going to do. When it's done I'll post some pics. For now I just have to let my nails grow and I haven't bitten them in a few days now!! I'm so proud!

I think I just needed some incentive for me to let my nails grow and now I do! Thanks for the help you guys! But I'll still look into the Stop and Grow Yorkielass, thanks!

Sally Hansen has some great nail strengthening polishes that are clean and specifically for weak nails. I too have weak nails, but since I have been using it, my nails look a lot better.

Yep, those are the ones that I bought laurenpaig1 and I was digging around in my make-up drawer and I completely forgot that I had a maybelline one lying around! It is called forever strong + iron. I can't believe I forgot that but I gotta post some pics of my nails soon. They actually have white tips now!!! But a little bit longer because I have to work the next two days. So when I have time, I'll post a pic.
