Geez and looking at that look " on your cutey pie" face over there your not impressed, !!!

    Thanks for caring

I went and located "The Little Book of Quitting" from my cupboards took me a while!!!

It is sitting here with me...

I have cut down by half, as i was being real rebellious and going full on this past week, so that's a start, i feel.

I have been more conscious of no you can wait.

I haven't been a good girl and made that step of no for the first hr when i wake up or extending the 1hr, but it used to be 15 minutes 30 minutes and now mostly 1 - 1 and a half hours.

I have noted exactly when i do more - here by this little computer talking to you and that is the one that i have to concentrate on but rebelling. I am honest, you wouldn't want me any other way.

I am pleased that i have taken these steps to start with, and that i have not had to run to the shop in the morning, as i have enough that makes me smile.

So, it's still progress, and a start, so me thinks me doing not too bad so far. Off course, now to aim at NO COMPUTER i backed off that one, but it's winter here, it's cold outside, and i can't stop replying here, so how can i walk away and... only joking.

That is my next "which was my first" lol, step.

Thanks for nudging me, I can always count on you, can't i....

I am 38 years old and have been a pretty heavy smoker for years. I have quite for months or years at a time. My doctor siad that she has a plan that would help me. I was hesitate because I have a love hate relationship with my smoking. She put me on Chantix / Celexa cocktail. At 1st I did not want to pills but after talking longer to my doctor about it and of all her patients that this work for - I finally said okay. Trust me I really did not take this serious. I started the 2 pills and as it said with Chantix, I smoked for (1) week while taking Chantix. Sure enough cigs taste so gross. After the week it was so easy, it was like that part of my life vanished from my brain.
I have not had a cigs since Nov 15, 2007 and I will never have that 1st drag. I have been off both pills for sometime. Smoking made me always feel ugly - I have lost that ugly feeling now that I do not smoke. Good luck with what ever you do....but all of you just do it.

yes, I can definitely relate.Ive been trying for long to quit.I was successful for about 2 yrs then trouble came and I started back.I agree that slowing down is a great start.Im down to about 2-4 cigs a day now.I smoke mostly when Im at work (bored, tired, stressed) I smoke less at home because my husband does not smoke which helps and I dont smoke in my home which helps as well not to mention my son has gotten education on smoking in school and reminds me everyday how black my lungs will be if I dont quit. Its funny because when I smell smoke on others ITS AWFUL! then I begin to ask myself ...is this how I smell after a cig? I can only imagine it doesnt smell good to my husband either. However, Im going to continue taking baby steps until Im full grown
GOOD LUCK TO ALL! WE CAN DO IT!

I have slowed down and become way more concious of the habit areas, like here at the computer, in the car, two that I am oliminating now, little post it stickers to remind me, as i do, brain works overtime with so much happening wearing 3 hats at work most of the time, the little buggers remind me...

It's funny, but i can smell smoke on people, even as a smoker and i hold my breathe, as it's horrid, that in itself should be saying something strong i know, I have the little book of quitting staring at me, dying for me to pick it up and read it daily, must move it ONTOP of this COMPUTER screen, so I CAN SEE IT... ha.

Yes, seeing as you lot keep reminding me by writing on this thread, your making sure i don't forget which is helping heeps.

    Thanks

But, i am such a positive person, i can do anything, but, give up smoking.

I am not sure it's the rebelious nature inside me, as adictions i can squash if noted, i may very well have an addictive personality, if i love something i become addited to it, but as i said, i can see if it is no good for me, and squash it except smoking.

Sure, tried, patches, chewies and even zyban, and i know you have to want to ...

But anyone that has given up, was there anything different that you did, to make it happen.

I mean really it's 2 weeks and then you can cope better and i'm tough i want to do it cold turkey, but just have some ideas, that can assist and YOU CAN DO IT ongoing when i open up here, may help....lol.

    Thanks in advance...
    Hi Chandler,

I realise this is not the correct way to communicate with you but I have no idea how to reach you otherwise.

I would like to start a tread in the category of "relationships" about following subject:
Marriage/relationship counselling did this ever resolve the problem in the long run?
My experience being that it does solve minor problems for a little while, I doubt very much whether it ever saves the marriage/relationship in the long run.

I have no problem if it is easier for you to set it up yourself

    Thanks

If I could I'd march over there with some fabreeze and douse you place and hide all your ashtrays.

Baby steps right, so try to cut back by a couple more every couple of weeks. Can you get down to a couple of cigarettes a day in the net 6 months?

Ahhh your scaring me, with boxing and all that, i would be saying "yes maam, no problems maam, what ever you say maam...

I once smoked 3 only a day for ages, and didn't miss the others... So at the moment that's where I am aiming (chicken) i know, cold turkey... As, I say I am positive, can do anything woman except for this..

I am sitting here at the moment it's been 40 minutes and i could have gone to the shop 40 minutes ago but I haven't.

I am by the computer cigarette out, haha none here... see, that's progress...

When I get the packet, I intend to halve it ahhhh and when they are gone I cant touch the others until tomorrow... This will be interesting...

I was smoking up to 40 rebellious i think or maybe this computer one after another? That's only the last few weeks, usually a packet so now I'm aiming at 12... Then 10, etc and when i get back to 3, none.
