FENG SHUI - Beginner

I am just beginning to read a little about Feng Shui as I am making a choice to get into another field regarding design. I feel it will be helpful and useful regarding my surroundings and cleaning out of past with makig room for a vibrant and peaceful future in my surroundings. Any advice for the beginner? Any interesting stories out there of personal experience when beginning to Feng Shui?
