I agree that there are many men out there who look for made-up girls, but even beyond that, women themselves can be ruthless. I've heard many women say "god just throw on some mascara, doesn't she care about how she looks at all?"
As i've become more comfortable with myself, my make up routine has changed ALOT. I have right next to white skin that i used to painfully disguise with bronzer. I also have green/hazle eyes that i used to hide behind black eye liner and black mascara. I now wear make up that accentuates my extremely fair and irish skin. i love being as pale as i am now, and i love wearing make up to play up the features i have that the media doesn't recognize anymore. Make up is fun for me, i wear it for myself, not to please others |

I wear makeup...its a routine...
well, for work, or when Im going out. I use it to accentuate my best features. I love applying it, trying new things out. I can go out with NO makeup. It doesnt bother me. But I love the looks I get when I have mya make-up done, to accentuate my eyes, or high cheek bones. I dont cake it on by any means...Thats for STAGE acting...not for bar-hopping. Make-up for me is just...a passion |

Haha...I joined this site to comment on some weight loss issues and found myself here. If we are going to take makeup away why not take deodorant as well. I'm a normal everyday kind of girl. I wake up in the morning and will tread to the store in my pj's and slippers still in yesterday's makeup. However, when it's time to make myself presentable to the world: the makeup bag comes out. I don't have to wear it. Do I think I look better: yes!! Do I have low self esteem? maybe....Do I look better in make up? without a doubt....I also smell better when I wear deodorant. Maybe you're naturally beautiful....I'm not. When the TV commercial comes on and says "Maybe it's maybelliene" I always tell my friends "Of course it is Jacka$$ do you think I could look this way naturally?" You don't like makeup? Don't wear it.

You know i do not understand why women wear so much make-up either. Perhaps they think they look younger wearing it, or they are so self-conscious that they feel prettier wearing it. Personally, i only wear mascare, and some eyeshadow, eye liner, and that is all.

Hey I feel it's any woman's right to do whatever she pleases to her own face. If someone else you think is wearing too much makeup,so what?! Why criticize what someone else does???? I feel women who wear makeup to go out are still themselves no matter what. I find it very annoying that guys have to criticize what a girl puts on her face. So what.
Personally I don't like to wear too much makeup, but I don't like to criticize another woman for it. I've known girls who feel they don't look alright without some makeup on their face before going out...I feel the same way too sometimes(my lips feel plain without some lip gloss or some lipstick)....but what's wrong with that feeling? it does not control what someone else does.... I like wearing makeup but not too much. It's nice not wearing any and letting your face breathe too. But to say someone is "not themselves" just because they choose to wear makeup I feel is wrong. You don;t know these people anyways. Kinda like if I were to criticize someone for how much hairspray they put to be confident in their hair. It's their business. I can't stand makeup haters, especially people who feel the right to criticize what a girl puts on her face. |

I agree with Isabellacat, a woman wearing make-up does not make them a different person. If you go to judge a woman on wearing makeup, men wear make-up too now a days.
Even though it's more acceptable today, you still pass those teenage boys with that dark eyeliner. It's like people who don't wear much make-up, but they have hair that is styled to cover their face. Maybe it makes a person feel more comfortable about going out? It's like picking out a womans insecurities. If they feel too " fat " they may wear baggier clothes. Or if a woman is happy with her body, and she chooses too flaunt it a little, she is more than likely called a . As she is if she wears too much make-up. Say, biright eyeshadow and dark eyeliner. More than likey you are gonna be called a tart, am i right? even if you are dressed in nothing revealing. Make-up doesn't make someone who they are. For some people, it makes them more comfortable with who they are. Others may have fun messing around with their make-up. Wearing no cover up, no foundation or concealer but experimenting with their eyes. Obviously media today protrays an image wich is what? Beauty? Some people pay no attention to it, but still wear make-up because they want to define their fetures. Some people do it, because they want to be what the world see's as beautiful. This was not meant to be a big story hahh. I think i may have gone of topic a bit. But i felt i needed t state my opion. Well, my rant is over. Make-up does not make a woman who she is, personality does. Look a bit deeper rather than look too see how much make-up a woman wears. (= |

You know what, 2 pages into this thread and I left my computer to wash off my makeup for tonight's movie outing.
I believe strongly in natural beauty, but often claiming it's everyone else who has it but me... I just need to become conditioned to not wearing it... without the stress and worry in myself looking 'un-kept' or whatever. I do wear quite a bit of makeup, sometimes because it's just plain fun to do. Other times because I feel I need it to look a little more... awake. I'm in my early twenties, I just hope I can become a little more dependable on my own true self rather than what I want people to see. |

I almost always wear makeup.
I'm a insecure wreck and I know guys won't like me unless I look good. I blame the media, especially magazines. I always feel horrible when I think about pornstars, girls in magazines, models, or girls on TV. Makeup makes me feel better. |
