hello, im new to this, and just wondered if anyone could help me. i wold like to know how long you can be on the pill for before you take a break? for example im nearly 20 and have been on the pill since just before i turned 16. i am now on my 5th different pill because none of them have worked. i went on the pill because for the frist year of my periods, they were really bad, and painful and long and heavy. the doctor put me on the pill, and i am now wondering maybe if the pill has made me worse now? i am on my 5th and this is the worst one yet, i wne ton it november last year, and since then i have been tired all the time(although def not aneamic) and get pains in my thighs, and have pms which i never used to get, and also bad stomach pains ad my period is still pretty heavy. i asked my doctor last year if i could get the contraceptive jab but he refused and said i was too young, so he put me on my pill im on now, then 4months ago i went back and said its worse than the others, so he put me on vitamin b6 tablets and said they might help, so thought might take a couple of months to help, but they havnt 4months later. im thinking maybe because i went on it nearly 4years ago i should maybe take a break from it for a few months and see how it is??? my doctor has never suggested to come off it though. but im getting sick of taking pain killers every month! id like any input from anyone who has been through similar problems or anyone who knows what i could do? i am going to my doctor when this pill packet is finished in two weeks but if anyone has any suggestions? id appreciate them. Thanks. Ciara.
