    I need an opinion and maybe some information;
    I went to see my pyscho today and he' prescribed prozac i'm starting it tomorrow morning. I'm kinda worried i know some of the side effects can be nausea, problems with sleep, loss of appetite, and loss of sex drive.
    All of those things present them selves as a problem i'm worried but it's a small dose for the first two weeks 10mg. I'm worried, but my family thinks it's worth a try. I dont know. What do you guys say? Any advice or information'?

    Default drugs?

    So my psychologist wants me to try prozac, i know that this can lead to many sideeffects such as loss of appetite,loss of sex drive, loss of sleep. It's only a small dose though 10 mg. I'm not sure anyone have any information or advice?

    Well you would have tried Prozac by now.

    I guess all drugs causes side effects, but as an anti-depressant it is mean't to be the best one.

    I would suggest that low dosage was sensible, allowing you to see what side effects you have and how to work with that.

    I don't believe any "drugs" should be long term but if it calms you down and helps you through this greving process then it was worth while doing.

    I only get concerned when people feel that they "have to" have a certain drug, they become addictive to it believing that they can't live without it.

    Look at it as "short term" and work towards your inner-self more so and what you want out of life, what makes you happy and day by day, start to work towards those happy things that you love doing, bit by bit... ok...

    Let us know how it is going, people are still writing on the other thread as well that you wrote under sweet.

    waaaaay back when i was put on that. every time i took it i had that feeling that you get after you throw up, when the acid is burning your throat. i had to be taken off of it, and switched to another, or was it the other one first?? either way they both had the same effect on me. that burning feeling in the throat. im not a person who is big on medication, but my family thought i should take it, so i did. i agree with CW. dont become addicted to it and feel as if you need it. medicine should be an aid, not a crutch. hope its going ok for you though!

    You have to weigh the benefits VS the side effects. If you are so down that you are not enjoying life at all, its worth a shot I would think. Remember that it takes weeks before they get into your system and start to work so don't give up hope if you don't feel better immediatly.
