Acupuncture doesn't work outside of its placebo effects.

Got to disagree with you Anon. I have a sister who was born with severely crossed eyes, while they have surgery now, they didn't then. Our mother got her accupuncture backe when it wasn't at all common and it straightened her eyes. The effect lasted although after about 20 years one eye did start to drift a little. She has had surgery now. Accupuncture allowed her many years of normal vision. It is not a cure all - nothing is, it's effectiveness depends on the problem, and it's cause but for many things it is a wonderful alterantive to more invasive treatments or drugs with side effects.

I've used accupressure and pressure points for earaches when my kids were little and that was very effective to relieve the pain without drugs as well.

Acupuncture worked for both my mom's back pain as well as her migraine headaches!!!! I personally have only used acupressure, but that worked for me!!! It uses/stimulates your bodies pressure points to increase endorphins and relieve stress.

Now you give me an idea, I am going to send my husband for accupuncture. I'll get back to you, if it helped.

    Default Back Pain

My mother has been suffering from critical back pain after a car accident and she tried everything. The issue with acupuncture is that it gets very pricey. She bought this product...I cannot rememeber the exact name, I want to say Prickly Pad. But anyway, that's beside the point. It is this home acupuncture pillow type thing and she raves about it. You may want to google something of this type. I know this is what ultimately worked for her.
