Thread: aching nipples

I have a painful problem that my husband is unhappy about.My nipples stay sore most of the time but here lately they ache so bad.Does anybody know what causes this?I know that it can happen when you're on your peroid but this is an every day thing just about.When they aren't aching they are still too uncomfortable to let my husband touch.Any advice?Thanks!

I'm not sure if we have the same thing - but my nipples are always itching and sore (even open wounds sometimes) I've asked my doc and she said to put salve on them (like neosporin) it helps but never fully goes away...

After awhile they just get so sore you can't touch them - I've heard that women with fibrocystic condition( aka lumpy breasts) can also have irritated/ichy nipples - not sure if this applies to u though.

I would see a doctor tho - we can get all sorts of duct blockages and infections for no apparent reason ... (especially if you are going to be a mom or have been before)

obviously you want to see your doctor anyway to rule out the scary diagnosees....
