I am not sure on what is going on or what to do but I have been having this feeling in my chest for sometime that feelings like my heart is fluttering and at the same time it happens I feel like I have to cough because I feel like I'm choking then I get a headache with it and sometimes dizziness and become tired and feeling like my heart is pounding. I'm not sure on what it may be or what I can do to control it, and I'm not sure about going to the doc, because I go so much and what not I don't want her thinking I have issues because I go all the time.

I also get a headache where I am dizzy and tired and I have noticed food helps with that, I am not sure of the fluttering in the chest with some pain etc if part of that or not.

Any help or advice would be great thank you

I am NOT a doctor, so please understand that my advice is completely non-expert.

I had chest flutters, light-headed, heart pounding. I was absolutely sure it was a heart problem. It turned out to be stress. When I realized that it went away. I had to see 2 doctors before I was convinced. That was maybe 15 years ago - I'm not dead yet.

The headache / dizzy, helped by food might be a low blood sugar issue.

You've been through a lot, a lot... For the Doctor to ask you if you are okay, they are maybe wondering if you and anxious, developed anxiety over all that you previously went through, yep, remember those posts, ....

I agree stress can also cause higher blood pressure but what consists of your diet these days?

Nice to see you here again.

It can be many many things: Stress...stress causes a hormone release which can effect your heart rate.
It can be an electrolyte imblance...are you dehydrated? Potassium and sodium are 2 very important electrolytes that can severly impact the function of your heart.

Hormones: hypo or hyperthyroidism can cause your heart to randomly race

Stimulants-do you drink a lot of caffiene? that'll cause the 'fluttering' you feel in your chest

Medications: this caused my random bouts of SVT (when your heart just takes off racing-mine hit 180bpm while I was sitting watching TV)

Honestly what you really need to do is make an appt with your doctor, get some blood work done (ask for a CBC, BMP, and TSH) those will check your complete blood count, electrolytes, and your thyroid levels. Also he or she may want to fit you with a 24 hour holter monitor-this you will wear under your clothes for 24 hours and it will monitor and save your heart rhythm for the entire 24 hours...then you write down the time and what you're doing when you feel the fluttering/chest pain etc...

I'm not a doctor, and not an expert, and cannot give medical advice, but, sounds like an anxiety attack. Also have shortness of breath, tingling in extremities, light headedness, cramping (if it goes on a while), possibly chest pain, feel exhausted afterward and your legs feel like lead weights afterward. Maybe your hands even curl up all funny? If it just feels like your heart is beating out of your chest for a minute that sounds more like palpitations. Get checked by a doc to rule out any other problems like diabetes of supraventricular tachycardia.

Sounds like heart palpatations, those can be caused by many things , irregular heart rhythm etc. You need to tell your doctor, they will likely have you wear a monitor so that they can measure your heart beats and see if the irregularities require medication, change in diet - etc.

I had them in the past, and I did have an abnormal rhythm but didn't require meds or anything. I notice anxiety will trigger them, lack of sleep, excessive caffeine.

I have the same things every once in a while its called a PVC. Everyone's heart throws them but some people can feel them. You need to avoid caffine as much as possible and it will get better.

Sorry I havent been on for awhile, been a full time college student gets ya and taking care of my father now with his heart problems.

Thank you all for the advance, I still get these flatters, I personally think it's anxiety or lack of electrolytes. I do notice food helps with my dizziness etc that comes with these.

I have talked to my doctor and she said she isn't to concern at the moment but to keep an eye on them and see what happens if it continues or gets worst to go back.

Thank you all for the advice
