I'm hoping someone out there has dealt with/is dealing with something similar. I'm getting annoyed with doc.
I have thryoid nodules (pre-hyperthyroid goiter) that have been FNA'd, uptake scanned and ultrasounded. All benign...Yay! Thyroid levels currently low to normal, but lately I've been exhibiting some hyperthyroid symptoms. What's really been bugging me is the neck pain I've experienced within the last month. Shooting to stabbing or dull sometimes...all across the board then radiating to my ear. Really annoying.
Doc say, no reason for pain...that nodules don't grow fast enough to cause pain. Do more blood work, pee in cup...more ultrasound...no relief. Doc even say pain could be "in my head" from thinking about thyroid problem. (no resolution = think about it...kinda hard not to).
Anyone else out there with thyroid nodules ever have pain? What did your doc do? What's the progression of your thyroid problem and what's going on for treatment? How do you feel? (Tired...hyper...generally crappy or good?)
Thanks in advance!!!
