Is there anyone else out there who gets yeast infections after taking antibiotics to treat Sinusitis or the Flu? If so, what antibiotics were you on because it seems like every antibiotic I take gives me a yeast infection?

    Default I hear you

It didn't happen to me, but I know lots of
people who get yeast infections with antibodies.

I'm wondering if yoghurt applied in the netherregions
    would help.

Yoghurt tends to balance the ph down there...
I recall in 'our bodies, our selves' it was mentioned.

It is known that antibiotics cause yeast infections. I work as a registered nurse and we have alot of this at the hospital due to patients taking antibiotics. Eating yogurt will help, I don't not recommend you putting yogurt where it doesn't belong. It the yeast infection doesn't clear up then you will have to see your doctor and they can give you some Diflucan or something like that. I always get yeast infections with any type antibiotic that I take. I have had good results eating yogurt during the duration of the antibiotics. I hope this information helps.

If you haven't tried a neti pot for your sinusitis yet, I would. It's just a little tea pot lookin thing that you put water and salt in - then tip your head sideways and let the water drain out your nose... It is a drug free way to clean our your sinus cavities and is loved by doctors too - ask yours and see what he/she thinks...

    Default i expierence the same

i too get yeast infections from antibiotics. some tips i can give you are of course yogurt( if you aren't a big fan you can take acidophilus), make sure your jeans are not too tight, wear cotton undies, limit your sugar intake, and do not douche. these are all good tips i have been given from my doctor and friends (my two best friends are nurses in ob) to help prevent and treat yest infections. good luck i feel your pain...i know yeast infections are one of the most uncomfortable things!
