    Unhappy Help!

I went to sleep last night and something "down there" seemed really uncomfortable. And then I woke up this morning and went to the restroom and the right side of my labia majora was huge and red and swollen and it felt really itchy. There's also a giant bug bite down by my knee and I wasn't sure if those were connected in some way but I thought I should add it in. I'm 14 years old and I am not sexually active.

You may be right, it very well could be a bug bite. Change your sheets, wash or at least shake out all your bedding, do a good vacuuming. Ask you parents if they think taking some Benedryl would be ok to reduce the reaction that is causing the swelling. If it doesn't go away in a day or two your mom may want to get you in to have it checked.

Any bug bite that has serious side effects will happen within the first hour. Anything later than that can be considered annoying but not threatening. I wouldn't worry about it, but for the itch you can use some calamine lotion (it was made to stop itching).
