Unhappy Rectal bleeding and pain, please help

For a number of years now I've had bad constipation that causes minor tearing/bleeding and infection. For the past few weeks, the skin between my vagina and rectum has been really sore and raw (heat nd moisture really irritate it). A few minutes ago I used the bathroom, badly constipated as always, but there was a significant amount of blood. Normally it's just a few little drops, but this time it stained the entire sheet of toilet paper and dripping into the toilet. I always use a daiper rash cream on it when I get the minor bleeding and irritation and it helps temporarily, my dermatologist recomended it. The bleeding comes from right around the rectal sphincter area where the skin tears, but it's very painful and irritating and it bleeds almost daily. Even when I'm not constipated it's still painful and irritated by moisture. I clean it very gently and thoroughly with water every time I use the bathroom, but I don't know how to get it to stop bleeding and being infected. I'd really appreciate some advice.

Hey sweet.

For a number of years? Geez...

Firstly, you have to get to the bottom of this constipation... Diet.. fibre & additional assistance such as "yuck" prunes, actually their nice with bacon wrapped around them cooked, off track sorry.

People do constistantly have constipation but you have to get the stools softer...

Secondly, you said "pain" and so I am guessing you have piles. They are basically lumps inside that rip and tear when you are constipated and go to the toilet and you can gain alot of blood from them.

There are creams at the chemist for this with a dispenser that can help heal them...

Please go and speak about this to a Doctor, a dermatoligist is only one part of the problem and obviously you have allergies as well and have to keep your skin moist...

No one deserves to go through anything on-going for years... There is help out there ...

What is your usual diet consist of? Say over a week, breakfast/lunch/dinner...

And how much water do you drink daily.

CW is right diet is the key. You need to be drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Make certain you are getting at leasts 8 cups. Get one glass you use, measure what it holds so that you really know what you are getting.
Salads and fresh greens can really help - no iceberg lettuce, it has virtually no dietary value. Spinach salad, romaine, leaf lettuce, add tomato, avoicado and other goodies. Always have some olive oil based dressing with. Your body needs some fat to digest the greens. Fruit is good too. Remember, an apple a day keeps the doctor away?
Keep away from fried foods or refinined flours; no donuts, white breads or cake. Instead get some good quality whole grain rolls and breads, they provide roughage and nutriants. If you eat rice make it basmati brown rice (it's not chewy like some types) Avoid chips and other junk. Reduce your red meat consumption to a couple times a week. Eating healthy really is the solution to this.

It sounds like years of this has resulted in hemorrhoids. I understand they can be very painful and cause bleeding, itching and other symptoms. Once you correct your diet, many of the problems you are having will start to heal. You should see a doctor for specific advice and treatment to relieve some of the pain and irritation.

Healthy stools are light enough to float and are not dark in color. In fact if you eat a lot of veggies and fruit, they will be green. You should have a bowel movement at least once a day or more. There should be no straining, pain or difficulty. Get your diet right and this and other areas of your life will improve dramtically.

One of my sons had a constipation problem when younger. Along with some deviations in diet, his Dr recommended Miralax. You can buy it over the counter pretty much anywhere and it is very gentle, just pretty much softens things up, never gave him diarrhea.

It almost sounds like you have bleeding hemorroids. I had them. I am also constipated and have been since a baby. I can eat prunes all day and drink prune juice. It doesn't help any. I eat whole wheat bread and bran muffins and nothing. I even buy these ALL BRAN snacks, very tasty, but still nothing... once a week is my go.

If it continues, go to the pharmacy and get Preperation H in supositories. Thye are better workign than the cream. I know it is uncomftable but it works. I swear to you. I went to the doc for the same thing about 2 weeks ago.... Good luck!
