I have never had a child, but experienced hair loss from Depo Provera birth control just like you are describing. When my hair started to fall out, I did a lot of research on hair loss. From what I know, hair loss is directly related to your hormonal balance. Having just had a child, it is possible that your hormones are out of whack and causing this. You can also experience hairloss from stress and improper nutrition. You might concider vitamins/suppliments if you are not already on them and try to lower stress. Coloring your hair can make your problem worse too!! I would be more suspicious of the hormones though. I would also wonder if breast feeding might drain you of vital nutrients?? Not sure on that one. Good luck though!!

Default hair falling out

I have a six month old and my hair is falling out in clumps and has been for months. I am actually really depressed about it,because I have noticed a considerable thinning of my hair because of the loss. So just know you are not alone and from what I understand it is very common.

I Have A 8 Month Old And About 4 Months Ago I Experienced Hair Loss When My Doctor Put Me On Birth Control, So I Wonder Now If It Was The Birth Control That Took My Hair Out Or The Hormones? This Is A Great Topic For Discusion.

It is the hormone imbalance that makes your hair fall out. The birth control causes these hormone imbalances which make your hair fall out. They go hand in hand and effect some women and not others.

When I was on the pill, I eventually developed severe hair loss.

I think for you ladies who have had a child, your hormones and then your hair will eventually go back to normal. Keep your chins up!

I had this after both kids, it is pretty normal. Your hormones are shifting. Many time when you get prego your hair will get thicker, unfortunately it does not last. Unless you are getting actual "bald patches" I would not worry.
