I found a great resource for reading up on sinus infections . There are a bunch of useful articles worth checking out.

    Default try a nasal rinse

I have serious, chronic sinus issues. I have been experimenting with using a nasal rinse, which is based on traditions rooted in old Indian medical lore. It's really simple: just a little bottle with a nozzle that you can use to push water into your nostril. The liquid goes in through one, and comes out the other.

The rinse is done with an "isotonic solution", which means its balanced for the salts in your body. Otherwise it burns like heck! That is, I used plain water once and it burned so much. The salt packets come with the bottle.

It's been studied in the medical lab setting for various reasons. One of them is chronic sinus problems. Everyone, including me, reports feeling more "cleared up" when they do a daily rinse. It's not going to solve your problems immediately, but for chronic hay fever (which I suffer from occasionally), it might do a good job without requiring you to take any medication. Another things it was studied for was for helping clear up sinus infections caused by the flu. It won't cure the flu of course, but it's been found to decrease the incidence of sinus infections *after* a flu. And only if it's done quite early on, before onset of any sinus symptoms.

Anyhow, these are my personal experiences with sinus problems. You should always do a bit of studying yourself and refer to your primary care physician before embarking on anything too adventurous! That's my disclaimer.

p.s. Oprah Winfrey had an episode which featured this guy who invented the "Neti Pot". This is a famous brand that you can find at many drug stores in the U.S. at least.

Neti pots have been around for a Looooong time. I doubt Oprah had the inventor on, unless they were a mummy?

However, my nose is twitching. It's occasional, only a few twitches at a time, and then it goes away but it comes back. Has anyone ever had this sensation during a sinus problem?? It's tweaking me out.
crystalchord have you found any medication which helps this nose twitch?

Just so you peeps know, SinuMed has a bottle instead of a nettipot, which has alot more pressure, and it comes with a baking soda/ salt packet to put into the water to help clear the sinuses. I have had a chronic infection since '08. :P Not. Fun. I have had my eye twitch, but not my nose or lip.
