Default Nose twitching and sinus problems?

Last week it felt like I had a cold. I was sneezing, coughing, and fairly run down. On friday, I started developing pressure on the left side of my nose. Now it's on my browbone, nose, and the sides of my nose and cheeks.

However, my nose is twitching. It's occasional, only a few twitches at a time, and then it goes away but it comes back. Has anyone ever had this sensation during a sinus problem?? It's tweaking me out.

Probably just a little pressure on the nerve.

Can sinus infection put pressure on the facial nerve? I just got a twitch on my left upper lip, under my nostril.

Yes - Your sinuses are up all around your eyes and nose. I have probably one of the worst sinus infections I've ever had right now. I'm MISERABLE!

Are you twitchy too, LanaBear? It was horrible yesterday. I was at the mall with a couple friends and I almost couldn't enjoy myself. It felt like someone made a mask out of bricks and tied it to my face. Today it's not so bad, but my nose feels all tingly, and the pressure's still there. And I really HATE the twitching.

They gave me a presc. for Amoxicillin (even though they aren't 100% sure it's a sinus infection because my drainage isn't yellow green. Then again it IS a university med center) but unless I can get someone to help me pay for the Rx, I can't get it. I'm broke!

A little twitchy in my nose and sinus area, but the pressure is unbelievable. I feel like my head is going to pop off, I haven't worked out for two days because I can't breathe. My drainage is bright bright yellow though (completely nasty), so I knew it was a sinus infection.

I would try and get it filled... They gave me Augmentin this morning and I didn't even use my insurance card, the script was $4.00... If you can't fill it, try researching ways to flush out your nasal passages... My neighbor is a trauma nurse, so I can ask her if she knows of some "home" remedies too.

That would be great, LanaBear, thanks!

I just took a nice hot shower. My sinuses and the tingly/twitchy feeling got better, but as soon as I got out they started acting up again. Oh joys. Do you think TheraFlu will help it? Some of my roommates have a box, so I want to ask if I can take some.

Here are some ideas...

Warm compresses.

Use steam. You can use a vaporizer. Adding Vick's will help drain the sinuses quicker. One of the most popular home remedies is to try leaning over a bowl of hot water. Sitting in a hot shower is also a great way to loosen the mucus and drain the sinuses.

She said to flush your sinuses by using warm water, salt and baking soda. - Create your own nasal saline solution using 1 cup warm water, ½ tsp. salt and ½ tsp. baking soda. Dissolve salt and baking soda in the warm water and instill 3 to 4 drops of the solution in either nostril using a squeeze bottle or dropper, as necessary for relief. Expel excess fluid gently, if necessary.

Well I don't have colored drainage (it's clear with some very pale green yuck in it), but the congestion is terrible. I used a warm compress the other night, and showers really help. I'm also drinking more fluids (juices, water, some milk, not much) and eating more vegetables and fruits to try and build up my immune system.

I got the Rx for the Amoxicillin, and I'll be taking that three times a day for two weeks now. I'll give an update in two weeks to let you know how I'm doing.

I've heard you can get meningitis or some sort of infection of the brain if you don't treat it, but that is very rare. I'm on my fifth day of this and I just started using antibiotics. Should I be worried about that? I think I got a meningitis shot four years ago, but I try and blank those out of my memory (I hate shots!!!).

Found out it was probably just Hay Fever, and not Sinusitis.
