    Default Chest pains

So, today I was getting these sharp, stabbing chest pains around my lower to middle ribcage on the left side. THese pains are very localized and last only a few seconds, though I have intervals of these, like one every 30 seconds for three minutes. I've heard of something called a Precordial Catch Syndrome and I think this may be what the problem is.

However, when I lie down now, I have a dull pain on the left side of my chest, almost like residual pain or something, but it feels like something is being pulled a little bit. I am curious to know whether that is just left over from the "attacks" or whether it's something else.

I also have some jaw pain, neck pain, and a headache, but that is from injuring a tendon or nerve in my neck on the same side yesterday I think.

My heart rate is steady and normal speed, and it is not skipping any beats.

Would someone like to clarify what I could be feeling while I lie down? I don't want to go to sleep without some reassurance that I will wake up in the morning. Silly, I know.
Trying to get a hold of myself is really tough! But I'll keep trying.

A pulled muscle. How? Who knows, could be from anything like bending over, stretching, cracking your back, picking up a book...anything. Is it something to worry about? Nope. PCS is pretty rare in adults the last I heard, its more of an adolescents thing. There is no cause of it, no cure, no medication. Basically it is an unexplained harmless experience.

You will go to sleep tonight, wake up tomorrow, and do that process your entire life lol. If you are still unsure of any aches and pains just take an acetaminophen, advil, or motrin.

It could be a pulled muscle, the way I wake up in the mornings, ha ha. I always wake up in weird positions. That and my posture has reverted back to what is was when I was having trouble before. There's an area of tenderness on my side as well when I touch my side under my arm. Maybe I hurt myself or something while I was sleeping. I don't know.

It's just a little disconcerting to get chest pains, you know? I don't want to have a heart attack when I'm 21!

Yeah but being 21, not overweight, no CVD (cardio vascular disease), and from what I have gathered no major health issues the chance of a heart attack are about as good as you getting struck by lightning lol

True, as well. I am over weight though. I wonder if the chest pains are a result of my not eating healthy the past few days? I've sadly been eating a lot of junk foods.

Strange development though; while my pulse is still steady, and the chest pain hasn't worsened, my jaw area and my arms feel sort of pins-and-needles like. Could that be from just being hunched over my keyboard crosslegged with my neck arched and my arms bent?

Unless you eat junk food every meal for several more years I doubt you will need to worry about anything major happening. If you do, obviously stop lol.

The jaw thing can be from you not paying attention to how you close your mouth. If you bite down on your teeth for a long period of time and let go after awhile you will notice some aching and weird feelings from all that unnoticed pressure. The arms, they are asleep or close to. Walk to the kitchen or something to get the blood flowing again.

If I were having a heart attack, my arm would not feel like pins and needles, correct? It would hurt, right? Also, my heart rate would be extremely rapid and I wouldn't be able to breathe properly.

I just wish I could get rid of this chest pain. It's starting to freak me out.

If you were having a heart attack there is a good chance you would be dead within minutes, or someone else would notice you on the floor in a lump of pain. And if you were having a heart attack your arm would be the last thing that hurts, and yes your heart rate would be going a mile a minute and you would be gasping for air. You will not have a heart attack. Patients claim that a heart attack is like having an elephant step on your chest, and no that is not what you are feeling lol. There is a big difference between on the floor needing a doctor pain and able to still function with annoying pain like you have. Take some tylenol, advil, or motrin and you will be fine.

    Could it be heartburn?
