Hello! I am 38 and have been having problems with very high blood pressure and extremely scary heart rate. I have had a history of high cholesterol and have a family history of diabetes, heart disease and cancer. I am 5'8 and weigh 152, so I know it's not because I am overweight. I don't exercise, partly because I am so busy with my job and 3 kids, but also because I have no motivation. My grandmother died at 43 with a heart attack.... I am not ready for that. What can I do?

    Hi Wendylynn!
I'm sorry to hear your grandmother died at such a young age and there is a lot you can do to keep yourself and your heart healthy. You mentioned you had three kids and I'm sure that keeps you on your toes and busy but you have to find time and make time to exercise. It's something none of us want to do but our health depends on it. An idea would be to get your children to exercise with you this way you would be spending time with them and getting healthy at the same time or you could start walking. You said you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a scarey heart rate. Are you seeing a doctor about these issues? If not then you need to see one ASAP! I came across a site a couple of days ago in reference to eating for a healthy heart. I am enclosing the link and I hope you find it useful. Eating For A Healthy Heart
Our health is something we shouldn't take lightly. It took me a long time to figure out that prevention is a key factor in staying healthy. Keep us updated on how things are going and again if your not seeing a doctor please go see one soon. Take care!
