I am starting to get really worried!!

Now and then I get this chest pain (sort of in my ribs) that feels like a burning sensation. It eventually gets so bad that I can't breathe properly, this goes on for hours, and makes me feel nauseous after a while.

My mom says its because I swallow air when I drink. I get it all the time after swallowing tablets.

Usually I drink Coke, which makes me burb, and that helps, but lately it hasn't been.

I don't know why my body does this, and I have never heard of anyone getting this type of pain before. Could this just be winds getting stuck?

Burning sounds like heart burn, maybe the tablets aren't agreeing with you, you could have a weak stomach, therefore, you could also have an ulcer, did you ever speak to a Doctor about this?

it could also be "gurd'..more commonly known as "acid reflux"..it is a burning sensation in the chest similar to heartburn..it is brought on by several factors..even swallowing without even eating can cause it to flare up..if you notice the burning more in the day time than at night it just may be that..google "acid reflux''..it's a detailed symptom..once you have acid reflux it rarely goes away..check it out..it is easily controled by a pill

No, I have not spoken to my Doctor about this, but I will surely bring it up in my 2 week appointment next.

I googled Acid Reflux, and I really think I may have that. The only strong symptom that I don't get is vomiting, but when I get the pain, it feels like I want to.

I will definitely bring this up with my doctor, thanks for all your help

I have acid reflux or GERD, for about 6 years now and I would get heartburn from turning over in bed, eating a carrot, or even drinking flippin water!...it was horrible. Basically what happens is the sphincter in your stomach which connects to your esophagus does not stay closed as often as it should and acid from your stomach gets pushed up into your esophagus. As a result the acid slowly eats away the lining of your esophagus. For myself going through a whole box of tums a week would not be uncommon, every single OTC antacid that was available I took and nothing worked. You certainly do not want to go through that. Only this past summer I went to the doctor about it, boy was she unhappy that I did not come sooner. If you have it you must get it checked out, I went a very very long time dealing with it and now that I am on prevacid there is no such thing as heartburn for me. The problem with heartburn is if it is constant like mine was. In my case I have to get an endoscopy every few years from now on to observe how much damage the acid has done so it sucks.
