Burning in your feet could be caused by several things but first try to determine is you've done anything different with your socks or shoes. First off is this something that is happening everyday? Are you on your feet everyday for long periods of time and if so what type of shoes are you wearing? Are these shoes constrictive around the tops of your feet? What about socks, are you wearing socks and have you changed laundry detergents in which the socks could be an irritant to your feet causing the burning sensation?

Look at some of those things and if none of that is different I would suggest seeing your physician because there are several reasons for burning in your feet, such as a vitamin deficiency, peripheal neuropathy(usually diabetics have this), smoking, increased alcohol consumption and other related problems. Does your family have a history of Diabetes or any other type peripheal vascular disease? I would see your physician if this does not resolve just for pease of mind. Let us know how things go!

I started having the same problem about two years ago. I'm 51 yo. It only happened during the night and would be followed by profuse sweating. After I break out in to a night sweat, the burning would stop. Then it got to be 2 or 3 time every night I was waking up with this. Never during the day or at least, maybe during the day, I can distract myself from it with exercise and activity. The lack of sleep was affecting my driving. I was a nervous wreck from lack of quality sleep. My family ruled out pretty much everything such as diabetic neuropathy, neurological problems, vit B deficiency, etc. I went to a physical therapist thinking it might be my back. The PT said it had nothing to do with my back and he couldn't help me. The family doctor started my on Gabapentin 200 mg only at night which didn't help. I learned that the dose he prescribed wasn't enough to help anything. Gabapentin helps with diabetic neuropathy, seizures, restless leg syndrome, and the hot flashes/night sweats associated with menopause, but the usual dose is anywhere from 300-1200 mg per day. I had also developed horrible, painful cystic acne. Nothing the dermatologist prescribed was helping it, in fact some of the products he prescribed made it worse. I finally went to my dear, sweet gynecologist and he stopped the Gabapentin, put me on 1 mg estradiol HRT. I've been on it two weeks and I've finally slept through the night for the past 3 nights. The burning in my feet has stopped and my face is clearing up. It's a miracle. I think he may need to bump up the dose to 2 mg when I go back for my check up in 2 months. I was such a basket case when I went to him two weeks ago, that he said to forget about a check up until I was feeling better. I'm still having some vague symptoms like my skin feels like it's crawling and my face itches during the night. I think every bit of this was related menopause symptoms. It's like a perpetual case of PMS that never goes away.
