can i be going through menopause at the age of 28 as i am having bouts of hot flushes and irritability. the other reason i'm asking is because this month with my period i only bled 3 days where my period is normally 5 days.

I think it would be extremely unusual for a 28 year old to be going through menopause unless they had a radical hysterectomy or something of that nature that would push them into it.

Don't ignore your symptoms though, see a doctor and find out whats causing this if nothing more than to give you some peace of mind.

Delayed periods, less of a period, does and will make you feel different, so will IBS which is believed to be stress related. That will give you hot flushes, irratibilty, you can also have a bloated stomach, have trouble either way on the loo, ie) constipated or running....

Do you have any of those additional symptoms?

I can't think that I have any stress but maybe subconsciously something is bothering me.

Yes, if you have the runs, you could have IBS ,which does give you dizziness.

IBS is "Irribable Bowel Syndrome"... you may be lactose intollerant.. Dairy products, too much meat, things like that can also cause it..

Google it and see if it relates more

    Welcome...

If you think that's it, then eat lots of greens, tuna, keep off heavy food and any dairy for a week and see if it lessons, it can take a while to go totally....

If not, as other posters have said, see your Doctor and describe all your symptons including your other threads...

Hope you enjoy our Forum any other questions by all means ask away

I think I must go just for a check up because instead of feeling refreshed after my holiday I feel more exhausted. as soon as i get home after work i take a nap for about 2 hrs before i have the energy to do anything else. and then i have some evenings where i can't fall asleep.

You sound run down for some reason.

Stress can also relate to your period. Sometimes people stress so much that they skip their periods. It can also be a cause of sudden weight loss or weight gain.

Gastritis could be another reason; it is inflammation of the lining of the stomach. Do you perhaps have any pain in your upper abdomen? Because that is one of the main symptoms of Gastritis. You haven't been vomiting have you?

Those are just a few suggestions. The main thing is though, that you should go see your doctor and see what he has to say about it.

    Good luck
