    Unhappy Embarassing problem

This morning around 10:45-11:00, I experienced some severe discomfort, localized in the area of my anus. It was excruciating pain, and I didn't know what was going on. I had felt mild discomfort the night before and thought that it was my period, and that I was cramping up.

It hurt very badly when I tried to have a bowel movement, and eventually I was able to get something out, but it still hurt terribly. I could barely stand up to go use the bathroom.

I am 21 years-old, and apart from my weight, I am fairly healthy, even though I lead a very sedentary lifestyle, where I just sit in front of my computer all day. As far as I know I have never had a hemorrhoid, but I am afraid that I may have one that thrombosed.

However, the pain has been a little more bearable since then, because after I had the very painful bowel movement, I thought perhaps I was constipated, so I took some metamucil and ate, like, 20 prunes. Since then I had another movement, and Everything was completely loose.

I know this is gross and probably TMI for a lot of people, but I am wondering whether I am simply constipated, and if anyone has ever felt anything similar to this before?

Sorry for double-posting, but I don't know if I can edit or not (can't find a button)...

It's now like a dull throb that becomes a lot sharper when I try to pass gas or when I try and use the bathroom. It hurts to sit cross legged and it sort of hurts to stand up, like in that in-between phase between sitting and standing.

I may also have taken in too much fiber, as now everything is sort of runny, but it still hurts to make any movements. What is going on?

Yes. Do not eat fatty fast foods if you are, and drink more water since dehydration is a common culprit.

You cannot really have too much fibre, it is the "cement of the colon". The fact that you are runny means it has unclogged the clog. The gas is building up causing the bloating causing the pain. You will be fine in a day or so.

i have had that every once in awhile, and it usually is a result of eating unhealthy a day or so beforehand. usually one or two movements take care of it though.

if the pain lasts for another couple of days then you probably should go see a doctor just to make sure.

ItsASecret: I did eat a chicken sandwich, fries, and spicy chicken nuggets from Wendy's on Monday night. I haven't had fast food in about a month, so I wonder if it's possible that my body freaked out. I've also been drinking a lot of water.

Sperosi: I've done more than one or two movements and it still hurts. My first movement produced a stool that was normal on one part, and then a sort of yellowy color on the other part. After that and taking metamucil and eating prunes, everything just....runs. The pain is better than it was but I still feel like there's something jammed up in there somewhere going "Screw you, I'm not going to let you have any peace"!

Now my stomach is growling and gurgling in protest against whatever is going on, and when I can gas, it sounds like an old 1930s model T trying to start up on almost no petrol! The pain is in my very lower abdominal region in the front and the back, like gas cramps, and I don't know what to do! Do I eat more prunes? Take more metamucil? What do I do now?

I'm scared that it's a blockage in my intestine, or a thrombosed hemorrhoid or something awful. Of course, my dad jsut told me about a stomach bug that's going around at his job, which has caused him to have a lot of gas. I'm just so frustrated I want to cry right now.

The best thing to do is not look up things on the internet, any serious diagnosis will be wrong. It can easily be a mild case of the flu or the Wendy's food. Just do not worry about it, the gas buildup will be painful but there is not much you can do. Just keep up with the water and I guess metamucil. So yeah you will live to pass a lot of gas

Did ya look in the mirror to see if you can see anything back there?

Oh, and for once I'm not gonna blame it on posture..

It's the gas that's making me feel like I have a golfball or something stuck up there? Why isn't the gas passing normally? It's just puttering like it's trying to move around something...I think I'm going to take some more metamucil, and hope to God that it's not the flu. I really don't need that four days before I go back to school.

Tex: I didn't see anything back there. Ew~! :-P And now I have to adjust my posture to make it less painful to sit down. :-P

    Yes

Why isn't the gas passing normally?
Because you are constipated. No matter how hard to push it may not want to come out.

It's just puttering like it's trying to move around something...
The colon + large intestine is just over 5 feet in length, so the gas has a lot of room to move around in. Nothing to worry about.

I think I'm going to take some more metamucil, and hope to God that it's not the flu
I doubt it is, you would have already been throwing up.
