Ok, so I know most normal people would really love to have this "problem". And I'm sure I'll love it in a few years but not now! :-) I am 23 and am usually mistaken for between 16-19. 16 more often than not. Last year before I had a job, I'd go and apply at places and EVERYbody would say "I'm sorry, but you have to be 16 to work here" Their was pure shock on their faces when I told them I was 22 (at the time).

My boyfriend is 28 but is also mistaken for much younger as well, but it doesn't bother him or me.

I think my problem is (and absolutely no offense to any teenagers here) is that I don't want to look like a teenager.

I am not offended when I get the reaction of "oh my gosh, you're 23?!" But I'm getting tired of being thought I'm so much younger.

I know I'm not ugly. I'm not drop dead gorgeous, but I do carry myself with confidence (being a dancer has helped that a lot) and dress according to my age. I like to keep up with fashions for my age group.

Anything I can do different to look a little closer to my age?

I think size matter a lot too, I'm petite because I'm Asian.

Sorry this post is so long, but I'm getting frustrated being mistaken for 16 all the time

I was always taken for younger when I was younger. Now I'm older and still get taken for younger but when you're 50+ being taken for 40 something, it's not a big deal. Actually it's kind of nice.

Teens keep trying to look older and older keep trying to look younger, some try to look a lot younger and wouldn't it be nice if we could all be happy just being and looking as we are?

Booooo Hee hee, just kidding. Yes, you are totally right WC. I need to be happy with the way I am! I know I'll appreciate the "you look so much younger!" soon.

Yes, I wear make up daily! During a regular day, I wear natural colors. light rose blush, mascara, and brown/tan eye shadow with a subtle shimmery finish.

During a night out, I'll go more bold with black or silver eye shadow and really play up my eyes more but classy.

    I agree with WC 110%.

It will not always annoy you.

I was only asking because sometimes too little or too much can make a girl look younger.
However i saw your pics of you and your boyfriend (very cute! ) and I think you look at least 20 for sure! I think all those people who are saying that to you are crazy!
anyways your a very pretty girl and I have no idea why people would say you are 16!
and you and your bf look very happy together! Congrats on that!

Aww, thanks so much Ros2007! We are extremely happy with each other.
I learned how to do my make up from a book because I was soooo inept! I try not to over do the make up and keep it natural on a daily basis.

    Your welcome!

That's the trick though, Keeping your look natural. I'm 22. I try to use a lot of tans andd browns or greens on a daily basis. However I LOVE colors and eye make up! .. Its hard for me to restrain myself sometimes but i do know the effects of too much or too little.. Its an art really! lol
