For the last few days I have just simply felt horrible. I have been getting lightheaded, and then I will feel like I have been on a boat rocking back and forth on waves. I have been having headaches, nausea, and diarrhea (watery), and very tired, but unable to sleep, having very vivid strange dreams, Plus I have been way too Overly emotional. I have been stressed and this has been a rough week, so I don't know if it is stress related or what.

Last night everytime I would close my eyes, I would start dreaming right a way and then, when i did fall a sleep, I would wake up withing a few minutes, paniced and scared out of my mind. This went on all night and didn't fall alseep til after 8am this morning and slept for about 2hrs.

There are a few different things that I have thought about...
I forgot to bring my anxiety medicine with me to school, so I haven't had it in a week, then my boyfriend and I may have had an accident about three weeks ago, and I'm suppose to start my period this week, So I've been praying that I will. Not late or anything, but still paranoid.

Any ideas on what would be making me feel like this?

Stress = automatic lower immune response = catching viruses easier = you have the flu. Keep taking your meds, try your best not to forget them, try to forget about worrying because those matters will eventually pass, take a bath to relax, get some sleep...rinse and repeat until desired health and emotional state is achieved .

How long were you taking the medicine before you just didn't take it? Once your body adjusts to a daily medication you can actually die from not taking it. The range of symptoms you can have short of death are huge. Sleeping difficulties are one of the most common withdrawals from suddenly stopping that type of medication. Headaches are probably right at the top along with any sort of balance or coordination issues and emotional changes. Try looking up brain zaps and be glad that didn't happen. If you take a medication daily instead of just as needed make sure to have a few backup pills somewhere. Seizures and death are not that rare from stopping most of the anxiety meds cold.

The medication is paxil, and I have been on it for about 2 months, and another anxiety med 1 month before starting the paxil. I finally got a hold of the pharmacy and they are going to refill it, so I'm going to pick it up when I get out f class.

oooo SSRI's. The withdrawal from those can be . You are lucky those are the only symptoms you had. There are entire sites dedicated to trying to get off paxil once your body gets dependent on it because it can be so difficult. The name "Paxil flu" has also been used on a set of withdrawal symptoms that completely mimic being sick with the flu. Never just stop taking them. Always taper the dose or have your doctor prescribe something else to help.

Oh Wow, Paxil, I was on that for a month and had a very bad reaction to it. The dr took me off right away and I went through withrawl. It was horrible! I was in bed shivering, cold then hot and felt like I had the flu for days!
Maybe you could try a different medication. I'm on Ativan and it's the only thing I can take. I've always have a bad reaction to all the other anti anxiety and anti depression meds.

I got my refill yesterday, and I started feeling better an hour after taking it, and today I'm getting back to myself. Still didn't sleep well last night, but did sleep. Mdraven, I'm going to ask my doctor about the Ativan or some with less withdrawl symptoms. Thanks everyone!!
