Anyone else out there with mitral valve prolapse?
I was diagnosed at 16 and my cardiologist told me not to worry, but the heart palpitations still scare me. It sometimes feels like my heart stops and then pounds really hard a few times before getting back to normal. Is there anything I can do to lessen the symptoms without going and getting a prescription? Any words of encouragement would be very welcome! I just get so panicky when my heart feels funny and I feel like I'm all alone with this problem.
Last night my heart scared me by beating wrong a couple of times and I got some chest pain, too. These are normal symptoms for me, but I just feel really bad and nervous, too. I've felt like crying all day because whenever my heart acts up, I lose all my confidence. I just wish it would stop bothering me.
Thanks.![]()
That's a very fair call brianna... It is a scary thing to have heart pulputations...
I think if your Doctor said "don't worry", they know what they are talking about but you know? Often it's a good thing to get a second opinion because often we cause these things ourselves by worrying.
Why not get a second opinion?
Don't cry sweet, when you are not sure, always seek a second opinion and if they say they same you know it's OKAY and if not then you know to continue finding your answers.

Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.
Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
you must believe!
