Alright so I'm 23 years old, get plenty of sleep, and am fairly active. The only thing I could think of that needs changing is my diet, which is not high in nutrition at the moment.

And I am ALWAAAAYS tired. I'm tired at work, and I'm tired during the weekends when I have nothing to do but sleep, relax, and go out with friends if I so choose.

What is going on? I've been like this for a long time, definitely since high school. Is it really just nutrition? Could it be something else? I ate pretty well when I was in high school since I lived with my parents and ate their food, but I was still super tired. And I sort of feel like at this age, the foods I eat shouldn't affect me to THIS extent.

I dunno. Any ideas? I'm tired of being tired.

Just out of curiosity, but do you take a multivitamin? I used to not, but just felt blah all the time. I started taking a multivitamin a while ago and can tell a huge difference.

Maybe it's all in my head, but I do feel better when taking my multivitamin.

I did at some point, can't remember if it made a difference or not. Ah well, something to try...

Get thee down to the health food store and purchase some Vitamin D3.
Not D. You want D3. Start taking at least one, maybe two a day. Recent research is leaning toward much higher doses than previously thought adequate. I usually make the energizer bunny look like a slacker but I was just dragging myself around. My step mom and sister both recomended the D3 and within 10 days I was feeling remarkably more energetic. Iwork outside part of the time and still apparently wasn't getting enough. Give it a try?

i was going to suggest iron, which would be covered with a multivitamen, also could you possibly suffer from sleep apnea, which makes you incredibly tired. since i havent started with iron and had my sleep apnea sorted i feel like a different person. it has made such a difference. has anyone ever commented that you snore loudly?? just a thought.

Hmm. I don't snore, I think the sleeping part is okay... Yeah I also took iron at some point in the past but can't remember if there was a difference. Okay I should try that out again anyway.

WC, D3? What's the difference between that and D? Well I'm certainly not getting any sun... cooped up inside 9-5, and it's bad weather out anyway.

I agree, it's probably a vitamin deficiency. Get a good multi-vitamin with iron, all your B vitamins and try a D3 in addition. Give it a few weeks of taking it twice a day and see how you feel.

Sounds like vitamin D to me, too. I've started taking D3 for the past two weeks (2,000 IU) and feel SO MUCH BETTER!!! Here is a good article on the topic -- it explains the D3 thing... (EDIT)
