My step mom swears by it. She does it daily. One of my sisters was having trouble sleeping and says it worked for that.
I was wondering if anyone here had tried emotional freedom technique, it involveds tapping different points on your body and repeating phrases to deal with emotional problems and reset the electrical pulses in your body. it all sounds a bit far fetched to me, except that i have experienced so much relifef from the buteyko breathing and yoga, that now i am wondering. i can remember someone telling me years ago they had benefit from it but havent really heard much else.
any feedback either way would be greatly appreciated.

I heard people use this as a weight loss technique. Seems to have helped...!
interesting wikipedia said it was basically a scam (well not quite but almost) but it still sounds interesting, might have to do further investigating to see if a trainer is available round here. did your stepmother learn from a trainer, book, dvd or what WC?
I have heard of this but personally I do not believe in any of it...I would imagine it is the placebo effect type dealio.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
What I have seen of it, my guess is that it is a matter of focused attention. The one thing that bothered me was that the language used wasn't necessarily very positive. Anyway the combination of repeating a statement, accompanied by a specific physical action probably creates a better focus and the brain accepts what you tell it, especially if it is done with emphasis.

at the moment i am in a very good place with my panic attacks, using a combination of the buteyko method, excercise and healthy living they are not bothering me and when i do have one, i can quickly put an end to it, but i am still very reluctant to try new things, i have such a residual fear, i would love to completely overcome it and am open to new ideas and any suggestions anyone may have.
