    Unhappy headaches

well im 19 and ever since i was little i have had really bad headaches. i went to the doctor and i was told i had chronic migraines. They said they couldnt find a reason why i kept getting them, that im just a headache prone person. I take migraine pills and they dont work, nothing seems to work, sometimes i want to sleep to see if itll go away but i cant even sleep because of the pain. Sometimes when i do sleep i wake up the next day to find that my head still hurts. Sometimes i just randonly wake up with a headache when i was fine the day before. I also noticed that everytime i wake up from a nap my head hurts really bad. I also noticed that i have a soft spot on my head that if i touch it, it will actually give me a migraine. Just wanted to know if there are any suggestions as to why this is happening and maybe what i can do. I dont know if i should go to the dr again because they kept saying they dont know.

Hey sweets. The only thing I can recommend is Tylenol Arthritis....I know it says arthritis, but my hubby has migraines also. I bought them for him and they work great.

I suffer from headaches and migraines, NOT FUN!

If you've tried everything, maybe take another approach. Try a chiropractor, I love mine. If you are out of alignment or something is a little off, that can sure trigger a painful migraine. Since I've been going regularly, mine have gotten a lot better.

Another thing, research pressure points and migraines. There is a pressure point between your thumb and forefinger, it surprisingly works pretty well when you can work it right.

Oh and I can't stand those migraine medicines. I take Advil and Tylenol. I actually have 800 mg Motrins, but 4 Advils work the same. Sometimes if they are real bad, 4 Advils, 2 Tylenols, an ice pack and a bed works the best. I usually get them to the point where the pain is so bad I vomit.

I suffer from migranes and headaches too. when I was a kid, my mum took me to a naturpath to ease the pain because nothing was working so we were trying every solution, and I quite cant remember what it was called but it was these drops, you put under your tongue for 30secs then swallow. I havnt seen her in years, but I do see a chiropracter. My back and neck is out of allignment. When I leave the chiro, I have a headache because of all his cracking and putting things back correctly, then I go about 2weeks without one. But then after that, they come back, only because the exercises he sets out for me to do to keep my back alligned, I dont do them as often as I should, but they are easing. The preassure point he works on are on the sides of your neck, under directly under the skull. he puts them in line and yeah im free for 2 weeks :-)
Still, wish I didnt get them, but you can only do everything you can though. Whatever helps.

My ex used to get terrible migraines once a month, and I figured out that if I lightly ran my fingers along a certain part of his head, it went away immediately, unless I lifted my fingers too soon.

It was really curious... I dunno, give it a shot!

there are any number of things that could cause migraines, or similar symptoms.

my oldest used to have horrible almost blinding migraines, and it turned otu to be related to his teeth/jaw bone somehow. braces for a few years and he no longer gets the migraines.

i find that if i dont have a pillow a certain way when i sleep, i have terrible headaches the whole next day. something to do with neck positioning i think.

Take notice to the things you're eating.

Food can trigger migraines. My husband gets migraines also. For him, Chocolate & MSG's (Monosodium glutamate) are the biggest triggers.

How much caffeine do you consume?

When was the last time you had blood work done - like suger, cholesterol, blood pressure, etc? I hope the doctor has ruled out these types of things already. Did you tell the doctor about your 'soft spot'?

Are you taking other medications? Are you eating enough? Are you drinking enough? Do the headaches occur during certain times of the month?

Yeah I agree on the food triggering headaches. If I eat fairy floss or glazed donughts, immediatly I've got a migrane.
