    Hi,

    I've been suffering from knee problems since October 2006 when i had a go karting accident. I injured my knee and was in a splint for a week and a half. Ever since the accident, i've been having problems with my knee, for example;
    - It keeps clicking really loudly and it gives me pain and discomfort
    - I cannot sit with my knee's bent for so long as i'm in so much pain i feel the need to click it
    - My knee feels really loose, but maybe that's just me??

    Can anyone suggest anything?

You might need more surgery done but i also have knee problems from figure skating... so i take calcium supplements just to strengthen the bone. This might help you...

I'm in no way qualified to help... but just a thought.

There could be problems with a muscle imbalance or weakness causing the knee cap to not track in the centre of the groove where it's supposed to.

Have you had a doctor look at it recently? You might need to get some new xrays. If you think its muscle related a physiotherapist may be able to help.

When i arrived in A&E i went for x-rays but all came back clear and they just put me into a splint for a week and a half. I went back for a check-up and they said everything was fine.

I've never been to the doctor about this problem because i know he'll just say "it's all in your head" or when i try and do an example of the knee clicking.. It wont click! Lol.

Go to the doc and ask for a MR. There is probably some non muscular problem, since you have had it for such a long time!

Before you rush off for tests that may not show anything I would suggest seeing a physiotherapist to get tested for muscle imbalances, these are the commonest cause of knee pain, make sure they test your hips too as you might have an IT band problem. Also get them to feel the muscles for trigger points, another common problem and tightness caused by trigger points can easily lead to muscles snapping and popping.

    hello...

my left knee feels like it's going to pop..it hurts so bad. it's been like this for a week now. problem is my doctor went out of town. i didn't have a knee injury that im aware of.. i just thought it's arthritis though i insist that im too young to have them.lol i have tried painkillers, warm/cold compress, liniments, knee support, nothing works. and the pain gets worse everyday and it radiates toward the calf muscles especially when im climbing the stairs.

    what should i do?....*sigh*...

see a chiropractor, even a sports injury specialist.

    Default Knee problems.

You need to visit an orthopedic doctor as soon as possible. I think you’ve already overlooked your knee problem for way too long and need someone to fix it before it gets worse. Knee is an especially vulnerable joint and can get easily impacted by routine activities. From the description of your symptoms, your knee problems may be because of a sprain, strain, or a torn cartilage. Arthritis could be another reason for knee pain and problems. A qualified orthopedic will be able to diagnose and decide the treatment plan (edit outbound link) spammer

I suggest you take calcium and bcomplex supplements. Also, see a chiropractor. It'll help.
