    I haven’t caught a cold for 15 years .

Not because my body or my gene are different than others people, they aren’t.
But because i know for a long time, that we have an immune system. That protect us.
And that this immune system we can keep it strong.
    Several points

    First the food :
At home eating healthy. The fresh vegetable and fruits.
I have three real meal a day. Quite Large size.
Three times a day, i have two vegetables one egg with potatoes or noodle and one fruit in my
    plate.
For example one tomatoes one carrot two potatoes one egg and one apple in my plate.
You feel very good in your mind with that.
You powered a screen for disease protection.
That maintain your body in good shape also.
    That’s makes 6 vegetables a day, three fruits a day, 4 eggs a day.

Only this fresh food from the fruits & vegetable market, or from the supermarket vegetable
shelve, can keep your immune system very high.

I was a cycling racer before. And we are not so big for meat. Toxic rate too high. Eggs are better.

The frozen food, packaging food, canned food, it will just fill your stomach, that’s just stop the
hunger, but that’s don’t keep our immune system strong.

Often i eat tomatoes cucumber and carrot or green pepper, they are very convenient.
I just cook them with oil and seasoning. that’s the staff. That’s powered the immune system.

But not cheating with the quantity it’s important. Not like three slices of a tomatoes, but the full
tomatoes. Not like three slices of carrots but a full carrot.

I don’t eat often the green salad, the cabbage, the mushrooms too low nutrition.
Generally the veggies with color have more nutrition.

    Second the sport :
Personally i run 5 times a week with my daily clothes. I run slowly.
i run jog or bicycle every day 30 minutes. Or five times a week.
    Running slowly but running.
But i think if someone run three times a week or even two times a week, it’s enough for keeping
its immune system strong against flue.

But the problem is that often a joggings means a lot of preparation.
changing clothes, wearing the sport outfit, changing the shoes, running,
And after going home again to change clothes again, take the shower.
Too much trouble for only half an hour jogging.

Then to solve this problem, i run with my normal clothes. No need of sport clothes. But i run
    slowly.
If you run slowly, your body don’t sweat. You can go to work after.
I just take a shower every night. No need to take a shower after a slow jogging like that.

Seeing a men running with leather shoes and a bag, People laugh a bit, nicely ,girls
    sometimes smile.

15 years i haven’t caught a cold. Good nutrition and real sport, that keep the immune system
    very strong.
Doing so, you have a good cold protection. That protect you also from others diseases.
You are quite sure you will never catch a cold.

And if you have a cold right now, that’s the a way to get rid of it.

I like your positive thinking.. And, I don't at all disagree, that if you look after yourself and be healthy, you won't catch a cold, or would be un-likely to, unless your have some problems with health, regardless of what you do to try to correct that.

But, if someone has a cold now? Then rest, Vitamin C, Lemon and Honey Tea, more rest, no stress, is the only way in my opinion you can get rid of it.

How can you get rid of a cold by working out and eating, when you don't feel like eating and you have no energy?

Go to your number 1.. Look after yourself first.

I would add hand washing. Lots of germs can enter our body when we touch food or our faces with dirty hands.

Eating right and living a healthy lifestyle DEFINITELY contribute to a strong immune system... However, I would challenge anyone to work in a daycare facility or classroom for a week during the months of October through January, and not catch a bug...

a strong immune system helps to stave off the viruses and helps one to bounce back after catching one, but really it only does so much, a lot of one's health and ability to avoid viruses is also influenced by their environment...
