    Default Genital Area Pain

    Hey ladies, I'm new here and I actually just registered as a member because I feel like I need someone to talk to about this. So I've been having these really realy bad sharp pains in the vaginal area. But I can't pin point where exactly it's at and I can't see it from my view. It hurts the most right after I shower or urniate. It feels like I have a cut and its trying to heal but its not. I have no idea. I've only had one sexual partner for the past 1 year + and we've both been tested and we're good so I don't think its anything along the lines of that. These pains hurt so bad that I feel like I can't do something. Sometimes I feel like its getting better and better then the pain just gets bad again. It feels like its throbbing. Like the pain comes in and out but constant for the past couple months. Anyone have any ideas or can help me out?

    Couldn't help you so I referred to google. This is what i found.

    Much of the menstrual pain felt in the lower abdomen, and in the ovaries, uterus, and vagina, may come from trigger points in lower abdominal muscles.

    Trigger points in the upper part of the inner thigh cause pain inside the pelvis. This may be felt as a sharp, sudden explosion of pain at the pubic bone, or in the vagina, rectum, uterus, or bladder.

    Pain from trigger points in the inner thigh is increased by extreme abduction of the hip (spreading of the thighs). For this reason, vaginal or pelvic pain may occur in women during intercourse in the missionary position, causing unnecessary worry about possible visceral or gynecological disease.

    Vulvodynia and Genital Pain

    Vulvodynia is a burning, irritation, stinging, or sharp pain that occurs in the vulva, the area outside the vagina. This area includes the labia and the entrance to the vagina. Such pain can last for short periods of time or be persistent, but vulvodynia is usually defined as lasting at least three months. The term vulvodynia was coined in 1983; before that, there was little recognition of this disorder in the medical literature. The National Institutes of Health estimates that 10% of the women in the United States will have vulvodynia at some point in their lives.

    Several strategies have been recommended to relieve symptoms:

    Wearing only cotton underwear;
    Avoiding pantyhose;
    Wearing loose fitting clothing;
    Using only white unbleached toilet tissue;
    Using 100% cotton sanitary products (tampons and pads);
    Frequent washing of the genitals;
    Application of ice;
    Avoiding the use of creams, soaps, douches and deodorants on the vulva.The exact causes of vulvodynia are not yet known. Some studies suggest that it is caused by psychological problems (somatization), but other studies suggest that yeast infections may increase the risk, or that the cause may be similar to the cause of some kinds of kidney stones. Awareness of the disorder is not very widespread in the medical provider community, although it affects women of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. More studies are needed to determine the causes and effective treatments.

    Hope this helped.

    It sounds like a cut, but if it's not that then it must be either hormonal or your skin is affected by shower gels/soap etc.

    You've had this pain for two months now, so seeing a doctor is a must at any case.

    Thought I would throw something out there, even though i'm a tid bit late!
    From what you have explained, I have experienced and was told it is a yeast infection that has gotten to the point of causing actual cuts, though you will not see them, they are there! Sort of like a paper cut. The doctor says it is normal, and it can happen if a yeast infection is not treated.
