I know there was just a thread posted on this subject but my problem is different compared to that.

So, when I was 16 I got my learners permit. I got it September 29th, 2006. It would then expire September 29th, 2009 so last year. I probably only drove while having my permit maybe 5 times in those 3 years. First time driving I took out my fiance's 2001 Dodge Dakota he had. It handled well and I liked it. Of course, I almost ran into a light pole. Then my dad took me out in my mom's Astro van which I absolutely hate. The steering is so loose that you can hardly control it. That day I almost ran into a parked car. Then the next couple of times I drove my fiance's 2007 Dodge Charger which I like a lot because of how tight the steering is and everything. The last and final time I ever drove, I drove our four wheeler and well, I uprooted and ran over an Aspen tree while we were camping.

Needless to say that No I don't have my drivers license. It seems like every time I go out to try and learn I end up almost hitting something. I don't know if that is my problem or what but I feel like such a coward because I haven't learned how to drive yet. It doesn't help that back in April of 2008, my fiance and I were rear ended and now I get extremely paranoid if someone is on his tail to close.

I've never had previous driving experience, not even when I was little in go carts or anything like that. I'm almost 20. I'll be 20 in July and have never had a meaningful job and neither can I drive. Pretty pathetic in my opinion. I don't know what to do, driving something that huge and powerful just freaks me out. I have so many worries like not paying attention or getting extremely distracted or something like that. My fiance's 17 year old brother already has his license which makes me feel all the worse.

I don't know what to do, I feel like such a freak because I rely on others if I wanna go some where. I don't know how to suck it up and just go.

Get your learners permit again. Find a large parking lot nearby and go late at night or early in the morning when nobody is in the lot and learn to very precisely control the vehicle you are in. Consider Sunday morning. Alternately, find a farm or country lanes to learn on.

Learn the same way for icy surfaces and snow.

My wife learned to drive initially by sitting very close to me and learning to control the vehicle correctly as the copilot, mostly at freeway speeds. When she got her learners permit, she had to learn how to control the pedals, but she already knew how to steer the vehicle. She is from Thailand, she took her learners permit test in Thai, which she is only partially literate in and she took her driver's test with a driving instructor sitting in the back seat translating the inspector's commands into Thai.

I’ve been debating on getting it again but then again, would it just be another waste of money if I don’t suck it up?
There are no places around me to go late at night and no one would take me anyway so that’s not really an option there besides going during the day somewhere. I live in a good neighborhood and could easily go around the block a few times.
Right now you’re not going to find any icy or cold surfaces here in Colorado considering weather is now in the 80s, snow just won’t happen, not until about September-October.

Here where I am, when you first get your permit you can only miss 5 total questions on the test otherwise you’ll have to retake it if you miss more. I missed the 5 exactly but still got it. Like I said, unless I suck it up another permit would just be a waste of time and money that I nor my parents can truly afford. My sister learned to drive when she was 22, she is now 35 soo yea.
