Does anyone know of some ways I can ease my headache off a bit? I think its a tension headache as i didnt get to sleep till around 2am and was up by 8.30am. I went to sleep for a couple of hours this afternoon i think thats whats caused it. I cant take any tablets as i am on medication and both nurofen and paracetamol interact with it.

Thought you clever people may have some self help techniques!

    Hydrate and re-hydrate with water.

How about Acetamenophen? So far, this is the only one that helps my headaches, of course, with more water in the course of the day.

(P.S.) Right now, my headache is caused by this new layout. (shhh)

I get headaches quite often, migranes every once in a while... What helps me depends on the kind of headache, but here are some things you could try:

*Conscious deep breathing. Breathe in your nose, deep breath, exhale out your mouth. Do this for a few minutes, or until you just start feeling better

*cool compress on your neck, forehead, eye, crown, wherever the pain is.. not freezing cold, but cool.. think cool washcloth, or an icepack wrapped in a thick towel.

*dark and quiet. lay in bed, shut the shades, turn off all sounds and distractions you can (tv, radio, etc), shut your eyes and try to relax the pain away (this can be paired up with the breathing and/or compress)

*pressure point for headaches. squeeze the fleshy part of your hand between your index finger and your thumb firmly but not to cause pain, hold it until you feel some relief.

hope it goes away soon! I understand what a pain (literally) they are! especially without meds! I'm pretty sure I couldn't go on living if I didn't have Excedrine nearby at all times lol

Squeezing between my thumb and first finger gave me some relief and im now sitting here with a glass of robinsons juice trying to hydrate my brain lol.
