When I was little, I will wet the bed. I thought it was just a phase thing I am going through and it will change once I grow up but I was wrong. I make sure I pee each night before going to sleep and sometimes I wake up in my sleep to go pee. At least once, twice and even three times a month or every other month, I will wake up and realize I have wet the bed. I am 22 years old and it is so embarrassing and I don't know what to do about it. Along with wetting the bed, I have trouble sleeping at night. My body will feel tired and I will lay down but I am unable to fall asleep. I can go couple of days unable to sleep and I am not sure. Why does both of these two things happen and is it normal?

The bed wetting and sleep trouble may be related. I'd do two things. First, check out some reliable websites like the one sponsored by the Mayo Clinic or the Centers for Disease Control. Just search adult bed wetting and look around. Second, I truely think you need to discuss with a doctor as soon as practical.

    Welcome to the Forum FindingSelf22.

Usually the sleeping pattern is through the fear that you will wet the bed, so you can't sleep, which actually triggers you being too tired to get up, therefore, in a deep sleep and not aware, that you in-fact went to the toilet, in your sleep, in bed, does that make sense?

Often people will also dream they are sitting on the toilet, and relieving themselves, whether they remember that dream or not..

It is "common" and you need to speak to your Doctor. You can take medication to assist you sleeping normally and you need to also find the reason as to why you continue to do this, a few times a month from childhood, as it may be a physiological reason, but it's okay, it's very common, you just need to find the reason behind it

There is a specific hormone that regulates the concentration of urine in sleep, If you have an insufficient supply it can lead to bed wetting. There are other physical problems that can lead to it. Start with a physical if you have insurance or get into a urologist.
