    Default poo problem...

I noticed some other poo questions on here so I felt comfortable to ask lol... Anyway something has been happening to me for the past couple days. I am a regular pooper.. I poo daily and usually twice a day. Recently though Iv'e noticed that I will poo once when i wake up, everything is normal and fine but I usually will have to go again to feel completely cleansed. Sometimes i will poo again right away or sometimes a bit later but for the past couple days I will go once then later I will get the feeling of having to go and I can feel the poo making its way down getting ready but then the feeling will stop and im left with this heavy, bloated and uncomfortable feeling. Why is this? anyone know? Maybe my body does it out of habit but I dont actually need to go? If I try to force it out a little but will come out but it won't be satisfying. I haven't been eating as much salad as I usually do but if i was constipated im sure the first poo would be hard and uncomfortable. I dunno. This is really inconvenient and would like to know if anyone else has a similar issue or know what this is...
    thanks so much

The first can be a part of your routine and then if you do not keep up with a regular diet for the second you can get constipated in only a short period of time. Another explanation is simple stress triggering the 'I gotta go' response. Does not happen to everyone but it can pop up out of no where.

What you eat can have a big difference in the hardness of your stool. Cheddar cheese hardens mine, but doesn't cause constipation. For others it may cause constipation. My wife uses milk to help keep her regular. She isn't highly lactose intolerant, but milk will help. With me, extra spicy (hot) food sometimes is a laxative. It is not the same with my wife.

add a bit of extra water and fiber to your diet.

thanks for all the advice.. may i do need a bit more fibre.. question: do you think that adding psyllium to your food on a daily or everyother day basis will cause dependence? i know there are some fibre supplements that dont really act as laxitives but probably are made of psyllium that you are supposed to add everyday.

Adding it may only trigger a routine dependence in the sense of needing it because you have it with breakfast in the morning type thing (like the routine of taking medication in the morning), but it will not cause a physical dependence. And yes there are the fiber supplements that just ask as fiber which in itself is completely a-okay. You do not need to go buying tubs of powder to sprinkle on your food or containers of Metamucil to get some extra fiber...it can be as simple as swapping a whole grain piece of toast instead of white in the morning for your breakfast.
