    Question Lump in neck.

I have a lump in my neck on the left hand side. It is about halfway between my shoulder and earlobe. It is almost in the middle but it is slightly more to the front on my neck. It does not hurt, but when I press it it is slightly tender, but I think that is because I am poking it into my muscles. It feels longer than it is wide. It is about 2cm long, and 1cm wide. The lump changes in size regularly. Yesterday it was about the size of a big peanut, today, I got the shock of my life when I felt it and it was 5 times the size! It doesn't feel hard, but it doesn't really feel soft either, it feels spongy on the outside, but quite hard in the middle. I have had this for a few months now and it is starting to annoy me. Does anyone know what this could be?!

P.S, I have been to the doctors twice and my doc says she can't feel it?! Although she does only poke around for literally about 5 seconds.

A quick exam is actually all it would take for some doctors. Sounds crazy but it is true. If she is pushing muscle around and knows it is muscle then she will dismiss it as muscle.

The only other option you have here is to simply visit a different doc. Whether that be a free clinic or another doctor in the same building as your current one, either way you can get a second opinion to ease your mind.
There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.

I probabaly should have mentioned that it moves about 1cm in all directions, could it still be a muscle, I must say it doesn't feel like a muscle, but im not a proff.

I must say, I was hoping you would answer, could you come and live with me?
