An ache is not automatically cancer. It can be as simple as a pulled muscle. Did you sleep on your side with your arm up under your pillow during the night?
This morning I woke up with a throbbing pain at the base of my left breast, towards my armpit. It was dull as well, and achy. The area is tender and sore, even moreso now because I've been poking around trying to do a self-breast exam (though I never ever know what I'm looking for in those things). I am just nearing the end of my period as well, so I don't know if it's because my hormones are balancing out, or if it's something serious.
There is also dull, aching pain in my armpit, shoulder, and up into my neck, and it goes as far down as my left shoulder-blade and the joint of my elbow. For the past five days I have been home on mid-term break, and the bed I sleep on at home is less comfortable than the one at University.
Of course, I worry that it is something like breast cancer, or some terrible something that can't be treated by the doctors at the University's health clinic (they usually give girls a pregnancy test. The guys get condoms.).
I was wondering if anyone else gets these random throbbings towards the end of their menstrual cycle as well, or if I should worry about it.
Trying to get a hold of myself is really tough! But I'll keep trying.

There are those who believe that dictionaries should not merely reflect the times but also protect English from the mindless assaults of the trendy.
Last night I slept on my right side, holding a rather large stuffed bear (About the size of a 2-year old.) The pain is on my left side.
I woke up at one point on my left side, but that is always uncomfortable for me, so I rolled back over to my right.
