Like when you look at the person front-on, their ears flop out and look like elephant ears. I really want to stretch my ears to 3/4ths. But I am afraid they are going to flop out like that. Could the reason they do that be because the type of plug they have in doesn't weight a lot? And if they were to put a marble or heavier plug in, it wouldn't flop out because it would be weighing their ear downwards more?

If you can’t beat em, join em I guess. I have the same sounds going on behind my nose AND a grinding noise when moving my neck side to side. About 9 years ago, I got my first sinus infection. I didn’t know it was a sinus infection for weeks. When I finally went to the doctor I was treated with antibiotics and healed up just fine. After about a week of being off the anti biotic, I noticed a very light seeking old rocking chair sound coming from my nose when I would lie down. It was random and didn’t last long at first. Over the years it has become unreal! I stay awake many nights listening to the air, sludge, sand, whatever it is in the back of my nose move from side to side. Making its way around my nasal passages I suppose. Some nights I get lucky and it’s gone within a few minutes...other nights after 45 minutes or I finally doze off. Tonight while reading through this thread and my nose noise popping along, I stopped and stretched my neck in several directions. Oddly enough the noise left! What the heck???!!! I can’t tell if this was a spoof or not I will have to wait and see what comes the next time it happens. It happens 20 times a day or someday 3 times. It’s all so random! My poor BF has to fall asleep listening to the same sound! If I open my mouth the sound is SO MUCH LOUDER. I hope somehow we can find out what this is all really about! KEEP POSTING! I went to ENT and the nose wouldn’t make the noise. He looked at me as if I were CRAZY! Told me to get a hearing test. LOL I wasn’t satisfied so I did not go. On the other hand he did prescribe a scam of my nasal cavity; I will be scheduling that soon.

I also had a few other things I wanted to add to the paragraph above. I can make the sound stop if I hold my breathe. It might continue on for a couple of seconds but stops. If I take very deep breathes its squeeks faster. I notice its in tune with my heart beating. I sometimes have twitches around in my heart and when my heart has a double beat the noise goes right along with it. Scary? uh huh...

For a more accurate account to what may be happening in your ear check out (edit) It sounds like you may be experiencing "Eustachian Tube dysfunction" or ETD. I too have experienced this but with only the crackling sound and with very little pain. There are suggestions on how to remedy this problem that worked very well for me. Seeing a massage therapist or a chiropractor may make you feel better in general but I don't think it will resolve you the problem.
    Good luck!

Do we not realise that in order to find a soul
    It doesn't happen over night
if truth were to be told.

Like everything in life that's hard to achieve
