Is there anyone here who knows about Pituitary Microadenoma, and the related surgery/medication.

My girlfriend had a Pituitary Microadenoma and has gone through a surgery, and now she is taking Hydrocortisol to compensate hormone levels. She has been gaining weight recently. I noticed that she is concerned about the weight gain and I'm afraid if she would reduce food intake. She says, her menstrual cycle has started again after that and regular now.

She is reducing the medication on doctors advice, and will soon stop taking it altogether when her natural hormone levels balances. I know that when she finish the medication most of the physiological changes will turn to be normal over the time.

I'm also concerned about certain things, and I told her to carefully follow what the doctors advice. She takes a good care of herself. On the other hand, I'm quite afraid and worried of even when she mention about those things.

Tell me about how things changes when you take the medication and how things change back when you finish the medication.

I would like to hear from people who has gone through this and now living a normal life without the medication and everything else in the life.

    Thank you!

I think I should tell you what I'm concerned about in all this. It is about that I have read on various websites about the side effects of excess hydrocortisol in the blood. Would all that cease after some time she has stopped taking the medication.. or what would prolong after that.
