Default nose pain and swelling

About 4 1/2 days ago I reached up to touch my nose and realized it was tender.
Day 2 it just hurt. The pain is at the top down the middle of the nose. I thought I hit it on something or got hit by someone and maybe didn't remember it.
Day 3 it was still very painful and tender. I tried putting ice on it but it didn't help. I am now sneezing sometimes, have some drainage, and feel pressure in my nose and a little bit spreading to other areas of the sinuses.
Day 4 I wake up and my nose is still hurting very badly. It is still just on the top of it. It is also very tender when you pinch the part right at the top in-between the eyes. It also is starting to look swollen there at the top, you can actually feel a slight bump when you run your finger up the front of my nose. My eyes are watery, I am congested, and my head is full of pressure.
I have been taking Alavert and Zicam nasal spray in hopes to reduce any swelling that may be causing the pain. No results.
Taking 3 Advil helps to take some of the pain away. I can at least move my face without it hurting but it still hurts to be touched.
I am very confused as to what is going on and can't find anything concerning this nose pain and swelling anywhere.
PLEASE does anyone have any advice?!

Sounds as though you may have a sinus infection. Try some tylenol sinus to see if you can get your sinsuses draining. If not and the pain and swelling continues you may need to see your physician for an antibiotic and an expectorant to clean out your sinus passages. You said you were having some drainage, and not to sound gross but the color and consistency of this drainage is important. When you take those allergy medications you are only masking your symptoms and not draining your sinuses which is probably increasing the pressure in your sinuses.

The drainage is just clear. Last night my boyfriend accidently ran his head into it and it felt like it broke. It was incredibly painful.
I was planning on going to the hospital for it today. But I don't have insurance so I am sort of putting it off...
No doctors will see me without me having cash to pay that day, which I don't have...

Default Nose swelling

This is to Cera,
I just woke up with nose swelling and lots of pain from between my eyes and down my nose. Both sides were swollen and red and feverish to the touch. I am skiing now and thought it might be my goggles but i have always worn them. went to the doctor and she said she couldn't tell me exactly what it was but definitely not sinus infection. the sinus cavity is too deep for where the pain was coming from. I am on day 3 of this and was given an antibiotic and it is seeming to help just a little. not much. i too have been taking advil and it seems to help. ice did nothing for me either. this is very weird and i am a little concerned about it. i was wondering what ever happened with your situation.

I read cera's symptoms and have very similar thing going on. my nose started to feel tender to the touch at the point where the bone ends and when I blew my nose. Now the pain has spread up my nose to between my eyes. It feels as though I am recovering from a punch to the nose. I have had a series of colds (ENT and chest) including an acute period of sinusitis a couple of weeks ago. I eventually took antibiotics but the nose issue did not clear up and has now got worse. I am thinking of going back to the doctor.

i have never had anything like this before. it's a little worrying as the pain is spreading.

Default Any news?

I started feeling pain in my nose 4 days ago as well and it was just the bottom tip of my bone. As the days went on, it spread to the top of my nose to the bottom and down the sides. I can't decide whether or not it's swollen because I never really looked at my nose that closely before. I think it is a little bit swollen along the sides, but not too much. It literally feels like I was punched square in the nose, though, at close range. I don't really have any cold symptoms, although I feel like one may be approaching. I just started sneezing a little bit and my nose gets a little stuffy now and then, but nothing unbearable.

I'm seeing a specialist in 2 days and hopefully I will receive an answer. I'll try to post what he says.

Unhappy pain and swollen nose

i am so glad i found this forum!

i woke up yesterday w extreme pain on the arch of my nose and surrounding tissue. i think where the pain sits is too high for it to be a sinus infection. i have no IDEA where or how this happened. it literally does feel like i got punched in the nose. i was sneezing last night like crazy and took an antihistamine thinking it was allergies.

this morning, the pain was still there and im still left clueless. id go to the dr's but uninsured at the moment.

please help somebody -

the mystery thickens.
