Just wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with Fibro ... my dr just threw this at me and I'm starting to put all the pieces of the puzzle together ... this past year I have really been off and suffering from so many different things that all fit into this little box called Fibromyalgia ... I don't want to have to go on meds if it's not necessary so I'm doing some research to find diet and exercise help ... if you or anyone you know has any suggestions, I'm all ears!!
Thanks
Fibromyalgia, Miofacical pain, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, not to scare you but all these can be triggered off each other, so best you know all of them
It is thought that Fibromyalgia, is a weakness of muscles, a trauma of some description generally causes it.
From there, you can also obtain miofacical pain, ask him about that, which is inflamation of the muscles, little trigger points that hurt, much the same thing really as fibro, only fibro makes you weak, sore, and your body reacts much like arthristis...
IBS can then also be triggered from this, "stress" related when your body and your mind can't cope with constant illness, and stresses on-going, your body rejects bad food, dairy, spices, chilli, too much meat, etc, and your stomach bloats, your movements can be either constipated or diareer and again, you feel weak.
I've had this condition for 12 years, after a fall.. I have 20% disability in my shoulder muscles, (right hand side).
Polities helps strengthen your muscles, without heavy workouts and helps tone as well, so I would recommend that you try that.
Medication doesn't work, it eases the pain certainly but you can do that with the right exercises and food groups, trust me
If you can, walk 10 - 15 minutes twice a day...The movement releases muscles and keeps them softer.
Stretch as much as you can, especially if your typing at a computer, every half hour stretch your arms up in the air, and to your feet... 3 - 6 times is all you need.
Massages are also good, not hard, it has to be just gentle massage and spa baths also help...
Food?
My cure of this is the following:-
Eat as much greens as you can in vegetables or salads.
Eat no more than 200grms of red meat and try to eat white meat as alternatives, as well as fish.
If you can stomach tuna from the can, mix that with salads.
Lactose may affect you so look for lactose intollerant milk.
Avoid takeways, chilli, spicy foods, curries, deep fried foods, white breads..
Eggs are good for you but can cause a problem as well, your stomach can feel it's too rich although I eat them, it can backfire.
Pretty much if you follow the above you will hardly notice the fibro...
