First off let me say that I'm 19.
I've been having chest pains since Feb 15, in the morning. On the fourth day I went to make a doctors appt. They said he was booked till march 3. I said I needed one sooner since I was having chest pains. They sent me down the hall to a nurse, who told me to go to the ER and get evaluated.
Went to the ER, the did an EKG and it was normal. Then they did a chest xray which didn't show anything. So the doctor sent me home with the diff meds. An anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxers because they thought it was probably my muscles from picking up my kids. They also gave my hydrocodone for the pain.
I've been taking them but all they do is make me weak, sleepy, and lightheaded. My husband is deployed so I don't have any help with the kids (we had to move out to Cali to live on base so idk anybody here). They aren't do a thing for the pain. I feel weak, and sleepy but I can STILL feel the pain. I've never had pain in my chest last this long. I've had it a few times before but if I breathed thru it, and took a deep breath I would feel a pop and the pain would be gone. Docs said that it was probably an air bubble, which this could be too. He said they normally resolve on their own. It's been almost a week now with this constant pain. It doesn't sto at all. Just gets worse then will ease back to being not AS painful.
Has anyone else had this problem? Idk why I'm still having the pain even after I take hydrocodone.
The pain:
it's on the left side of my chest and I feel like there's a lump or something. Like there's something in the way causing pain when I breathe. The higest the pains gotten is up to my collarbone, but today it went to my armpit area and backside of my arm. I'm starting to feel it in my right side too and in my upper back, where it hurts on my chest. You ever swallow more food than you shouldve and you feel that painful lump go down? That's what it is like. The pain is also effecting my eating/drinking. When I swallow anything it feels like it's hitting the painful spot when it goes down. It's not heartburn, I've had heartburn before from pregnancies. Idk what to do. I feel like I should give it a few more days to see if orgies away, but then I few minutes ago when I was bending over to pick up something I felt a shock of pain branch thruout my chest and now I'm laying in bed hurting. I took hydrocodone two hours ago, and my muscle relaxers maybe thirty mins ago. I'm fixin to rake the anti-inflammatory one in an hour or so. But I'm still having these pains.
Anyone had something like this? Chest pains that don't go away with ain meds? I'm only 19 so idk what could be happening since I'm still young.
I get that sometimes. It's a spasm of skeletal muscle on top of the heart and under the ribcage. My dr said it happens predominantly in females for some reason. When you breathe in it feels like someone jabbing a dagger down under your collar bone and into your chest. It can get pretty bad. I would go to the dr and tell him about it and see if he can prescribe something like Carisprodol to help with the spasms. It's a muscle relaxer that has worked on that problem for me. It's a take as needed thing. I hope this helped.
What good is a wiener dog if he's not spoiled rotten?
