I have not been diagnosed with GERD, however, I get heartburn terribly. Sometimes the pain is so intense, I can feel it in my innter ears...and a little in my throat. And it causes my head to hurt a little...
I do not have a sour taste in my mouth...but I really feel bloated and all around miserable..
Is it normal for pain to occur in my inner ears?

Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.

I would say yes, this is a common pain in your ears with severe reflux. There are a couple of reasons. First, there is pressure building up in your system when you lay down. There is also tension in your neck related to the pain, which can cause pressure in your ears. Then, there is bacteria in your stomach fluid that is involved in the reflux, which sits in the back of your throat, and possibly your ear canals, as you lay down. There are several heartburn remedies that can be researched, such as small meals the size of your fist and nothing spicy, fried, or greasy to eat.
