Default Pus Cells in Urine, No UTI

I'm 17 years old and for about a year now I've been experiencing abnormal bladder function. I urinate like crazy. If I have anything to drink, twenty minutes later I need to RUN to the bathroom. The urges are overwhelming and come about really suddenly. I worry sometimes that I might not make it! If I avoid drinking anything, I still will get a sudden urge several times a day and usually at least once during the night. Its been happening since a UTI I got last year.

I finally went to the doctor and he tested my urine, and in the 'field test' he said there were pus cells present so he will send it to the lab and see. I got the results today by phone and they were negative for UTI.

So now what? Do I make another appointment? What other possible reasons are there for pus cells being present in the urine?

Anyone been in a similiar situation?

Frequent Urination can be a sign of Diabetes or Pre Diabetes, also can be a sign of Bladder dysfunction. Your Dr should do a test for AGT or SRH or even the just the normal blood work for Diabetes.

Whatever you do , Do not stop drinking Fluids, ( WATER is best ) you can actually harm yourself and Dehydrate yourself, which is more dangerous to your Body and Brain, to have it Have to use only the Body fluids in your body, without replacing it daily.

The Urge to Pee , is a Muscle control/ Signal , your brain gives those signals that you need to empty the bladder. And that the fluids in your body need to Leave.

As a young woman, not fully " Matured " Physically.. You may have times of your uterus and muscles, still having to align themselves in the frame of your pelvic dimensions.
Weight gain or loss, Sexual activities, Pregnancy, Births, abortions, all have a play in how your urinary tract and Body functions perform .
Go back to the DR. or another one in the office, Explain the " Urgency" and that it is Not a UTI..

In the meantime, Use a maxi pad or Thin Overnight type Pad. keep all Tight clothing off of anything below the Top / Boobs, Avoid any " Gassy " foods, Pepsi/ Coke, Carbonated drinks, Beans or Cabbage or things that You know can or will provide Pressure that might have your body need to release pressure, by putting it on your UT.

Having to pee so much so soon after drinking also makes me wonder about a kidney problem. You'll have to return to the doctor for more tests to rule more things out.

    Thanks for the replies,

My UTI last year resulted in really bad pain in my left kidney. I also wonder if maybe it is something to do with them. I have had some family history of kidney disorders.

Something that really bothered me today was excessive thirst. I've noticed a dry mouth and getting thirsty alot before, but today it drove me mad! I needed to be sipping on something constantly.

The doctor mentioned a few possibilities- the most likely a UTI. He said "we'll go from there" (regarding test results). He mentioned it could be a STI (I won't rule it out, but I've only been intimate with the one partner and he has only been intimate with me, so that would be strange) and suggested I go for a pap smear (both to rule this out and because I'm due for one). He then mentioned the possibility of kidney problems but said they are more serious and also unlikely.

I am going to try to get a pap smear this week or next. I think if nothing comes of that I will go back to the doctor (I'm not going to him for the pap because he doesn't bulk bill and I can't afford it :P) and see what happens from there.

Thanks for replies so far, would definitely like to hear from anyone else who has experienced similiar symptoms.
